dethbringre
I have searched these forums and others high and low and I cannot seem to get my GemRB.cfg file correct.. I know that it is my CFG file since I can run the demo perfectly. However, when I try to edit the CFG and run BG2 (full) it crashes to home screen every single time. I have checked my cache file to make sure it is empty. I am using total commander to check my file extensions to be correct. I tried aLogcat but I don't really know what I'm looking for and it captures everything and I'm not quite sure how to filter out gemrb only. Here is my log, If anyone can provide me guidance I would be greatly appreciative. P.S. I am not extremely adept at in-depth computer files and what not, but I can usually manage this kind of stuff, hence the frustration. ##################################################### GameType=bg2 ##################################################### GameName=Baldur's Gate 2 ##################################################### #Screen width Width=1280 #Screen height Height=700 #Bits per pixel [integer:16,32] Bpp=16 #Fullscreen [boolean] Fullscreen=0 # Delay before tooltips appear [milliseconds] TooltipDelay=500 # Choices: openal (default), sdlaudio (faster, but limited featureset), none #AudioDriver = openal # Volume of ambient sounds #VolumeAmbients = 100 # Volume during movie playback #VolumeMovie = 100 # Volume of background music #VolumeMusic = 100 # Volume of sound effects #VolumeSFX = 100 # Volume of PC or NPC voices #VolumeVoices = 100 #CaseSensitive=1 #GameOnCD=0 # Enable all gui enhancements ? dethbringre
I've set my resolution to 1280x700, my galaxy note is 1280x800 and I've reduced by 100 to allow for hotbar and such as I heard that was causing some to crash. Link to comment
dethbringre
I think that since I've got the demo installed I'll try to use the demo gemrb.cfg file and place it within my BG2 full version file and see if that will work. If not I may try to just add all the data files and the baldurs.exe from the full version into the demo file and see if I can get it to run the full version that way. Link to comment
dethbringre
Update: Using the gemRB.cfg from the bg2 demo placed into my bg2 full install file location no longer crashes the game. However, it now goes to black screen and allows me to have the bg2 mouse pointer which is functional along with the keyboard button in the top right corner. I changed the directory of my gamepath to the location of the full version and yet I still get the same black screen with mouse pointer.. Link to comment
Avenger
CD2-5 should be something like CDx=./mnt/sdcard/app-data/net.sourceforge.gemrb/data/CDx Obviously we could give a better clue if there is a log. Link to comment
dethbringre
Well guys I've finally got it figured out and running, loading is smooth no lag. I finally had to do a combination of things. Clearing my cache file out, and for some odd reason, which may not be odd at all, I had to run the widescreen mod and set it to 1280x800 which is my phone resolution, yet in my gemrb.cfg file I had to set the resolution to 640x480 full screen. This seems to be the only way I was able to get the game to run and utilize all my screens landscape. Thanks a ton for the help with this wonderful project. Link to comment
