Aquadrizzt
NearInfinity lists bits 12 and 13 in item flags as "EE: Fake Two-handed" and "EE: Forbid Off-hand Weapons", respectively. I can't seem to get these to work in updated SOD? Do they actually work? Link to comment
Fiann of the Silver Hand
Ugh. I can't even get NI to search for those flags. Can you give me an ITM that uses one of them? Thanks. Link to comment
kjeron
Bit 13 only works on weapons created through opcode 111. It's used in IWDEE(but also works in 2.0+) to prevent Melf's Meteor's and Spiritual Hammer from allowing off-hand attacks. The Inventory and Record screens still display information for the offhand weapon, and you will retain passive/equipped effects from it, but it is not used to attack. Bit 12 only alters the animation used in the attack, used by Monk fists, to force them to use the 2-handed attack animation when used alone(empty offhand). Link to comment
Aquadrizzt
Damn kjeron, so knowledgeable. So they do work, but it is non-obvious? That's better than expected. EDIT: Errr... reread, it doesn't work on non-summoned weapons? That's a shame. Link to comment
Jarno Mikkola
EDIT: Errr... reread, it doesn't work on non-summoned weapons? That's a shame. But why would you use the bit in non-summoned weapons ? It's there for that reason alone. Aka if you want an item that blocks the use of the other hand, you just flag the weapon two handed with bit 1, and that's it. Link to comment
Aquadrizzt
Because I want it to be usable with shields, just not other weapons. Link to comment
Aquadrizzt
Having tested it, it looks like it works even with non-summoned weapons. Thanks for the guidance kjeron. Link to comment
Jarno Mikkola
Because I want it to be usable with shields, just not other weapons. No, you want it to be usable ONLY with shields, and there's... high likelihood of that being impossible... But how about this: Make the Shield the primary weapon, just like the two handed Bastards Swords does it, AND that might solve the thing you want. As you can only put a secondary hand weapon to the secondary weapon slot, and when you set the primary weapons(shield) attack speed to zero, the shield shouldn't attack at all. .. of course remove the strength flag from it and so on... try and see if that fixes what you want. Aquadrizzt
If it negates the attacks from your off-hand weapon, that is satisfactory for me. Ideally it wouldn't even allow you to equip them, but that is a difficult and tedious process. Link to comment
Avenger
I'm pretty sure it works the same with or without summoned weapons. It is a different question, if you can place them into the magic slot without "summoning". Link to comment
Aquadrizzt
From my rudimentary testing of the flag, it looks like it negates off-hand attacks even when its just a normally equipped weapon. Link to comment
kjeron
I am certainly getting off-hand attacks from just bit 13 on non-summoned weapons. Do you have Bit 7 flagged as well? It does negate off-hand attacks, off-hand equip effects, and all styles bonuses except Sword&Shield. Are you testing while Hasted, normal or improved? It can prevent offhand attacks depending on your Base APR by itself, but bit 13 seems to add even more combinations: Base APR 1/2 + Bit13 + Offhand + Either Haste = 1 Mainhand attack, No Offhand attacks Base APR 1/2 + Offhand + Nrm. Haste = 2 Mainhand attacks Base APR 1/2 + Offhand + Imp. Haste = 2 Offhand attacks, 1 Mainhand attack Base APR 1 + Bit13 + Offhand + Either Haste= 2 Mainhand attacks no Offhand attacks Base APR 3/2 + Bit13 + Offhand + Nrm. Haste = 2 Mainhand attacks, no Offhand attacks Base APR 3/2 + Bit13 + Offhand + Imp. Haste = 2 Offhand attacks, 1 Mainhand attack Base APR 2 + Bit13 + Offhand + Nrm. Haste = 2 Offhand attacks, 1 Mainhand attack Link to comment
