Installation issue

Wanted to give BGII another play through: reinstalled on my laptop. Installed level one npcs. Worked beautifully.

Reinstalled game for other reasons. Reinstalled level one npcs. No dice. Program runs fine and dos prompt reports successful, but npcs simply appear with their default stats/kits. Any suggestions?

Will be happy to post whatever is helpful but will need guidance there as well.

First things first - did you install BG2 under Win7 or Vista using the default settings and the UAC still on? If so, you may have run afoul of the infamous "windows os is protecting you from the big bad mod" problem that dogs both Civ 4 users and BG2 players...

If this is the case, try an install with administrator rights, and the game in another directory ( like c:\bg2\ )

ERROR: problem parsing TP file [LEVEL1NPCS/LEVEL1NPCS.TP2]: Not_found I cant install level one npcs, why? I have big world project.
You probably need to reinstall the game to the c:\bg2\ -folder, not move it cause the files are not actually in the Program Files folder... but in the hidden ProgramData folder, that's causing the error as the level1npcs.tp2 file was not actually copied.
