I might install Sarah - couple of questions.

1. In my current game, I haven't been to the Umar Hills yet - will I find her or do I need to start a new game?

 

2. If I did introduce her to my party, she would replace Minsc (coincidentally also a ranger)... (a) what's she like in combat, and (b) what are her existing weapon proficiencies.

 

3. In my current game I've already started romancing both Anomen and Kelsey (I think, anyway, at least they sure seem to think so - they're fighting over me already). Will this make a difference to my ability to romance her instead?

You won't need to start a new game.

 

She's been pretty effective for me in combat though she hasn't the strength that Minsc has obviously. She is a good archer though.

 

If you are romancing Anomen she will not romance you.

The easiest thing to do would be to dump him before picking her up.

Well, I decided to just go ahead and get her into my party anyway. She seems a nice enough girl. New banter & interjections & quests & that sort of thing are fantastic anyway, and I'm always up for new NPCs. We'll just see what happens. Thanks for the help theacefes.
