Could some one provide a non broken dw#melri.itm file ?

Recommended Posts

Cause the one in the v5 is off it's file constrains, aka when you modify the file, weidu doesn't throw a fit because of this:

"ERROR: illegal 2-byte read from offset 506 of 498-byte file C!PP26.ITM"

... as shown in multiple related, but not directly threaded sources.

And cause we would like to fix the F-up.

Here are some from older installations that never had errors in game or install, however I cannot check for your specific problem. May help or not.

It would help to know if zonx was using v5 and whether C!PP26.ITM was a clone of DW#MELRI.ITM or a different item (from the mapping listed in cdpnp.2da).

From here:

Wheels of Prophecy v5 (which BWS is using) included a supposed fix for dw#melri.itm to avoid this problem. Apparently not.

And yes, the C!PP26.ITM and CDPP26.ITM are the two clones of the same item, the DW#MELRI.ITM ...

Same issue reported in http://gibberlings3.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=27884&page=7&do=findComment&comment=245202 - confirmed still an issue with v5 of Wheels. v5 original and cdtweaks modified file are attached in that thread for comparison.

Edit: Correction -- C(D/!)PP*26* is a different item. That is c2amul01 according to cdtweaks\2da\cdpnp.2da. Also, I have not had issues with CDPP*26* in my latest install.

The issue in the other thread is C(D/!)PP*29* which is a clone of dw#melri from Wheels of Prophecy.

Technically, dw#melri.itm is fine in v5, it's just using a non-standard ordering (effects before abilities). Rather than changing the file again, I've fixed the component in Tweaks that was tripping up on items with non-standard orderings [link].

I had a similar error when trying to install BWP - had to cut 3 item files from the Override folder:

c!pp27

cdpp27

dw#melri

Anyone mind telling me what exactly these items are? Can i copy them back in the Override folder after BWP is finished installing?
