EET install error

Recommended Posts

So I made a clean install of both bgee and bg2ee, installed my bg1 compatible mods, and started eet, and get a no translation error. I cant find any solution online and am hoping this community might help. here is the debug:

So I made a clean install of ...

Right, this is not a clean install.

You did not clean the install folder after uninstalling the game ... ...so the changes stay in the game, partially, and you get a lot of bad errors.

so i did a clean instal and it worked but a few of the mods i use have .gitattributes and .gitignore and i have to overwrite in my directory and i think its causing imoen to randomly shout at demons and ask to steal wine from ducal palace

Well, sounds perfectly like Imoen, no?...

On a serious note: the .gitxxx files are not necessary for the mods and can be overwritten and deleted without problems. I fear the cause for your glitches lies elsewhere. What exactly happens with Imoen? Is it random text popping up in the dialogbox like a DisplayString thing, or real dialogue?

Here some warnings i got for eet end debug

Those warnings have nothing to do with the problem, cause they are from spells and they point to the Drizzt's companions dialog actions, aka spells the game casts when the dialog is done.

Go to your BG2EE game directory and open the weidu.log file and copy pasdte the whole text to a post, in spoilers.

This will give you problems, I am afraid. You need to update to v17. Otherwise, the game will freeze if e.g. you talk to Linda in Candlekeep Inn (because the EE games freeze if the text contains symbols in the wrong format).
