SoD Map Icons missing

Wonderful mod, truly fantastic! I've played through all 23 chapters once (finally), and I must say that the experience is far and away preferable to several stand-alone games.

There is a bit of an issue for me, though, regarding the World Map. I installed EET along with several other mods using the BiG World Installer, including the BP-BGT Worldmap. When I got to the Siege of Dragonspear content, all of the SoD worldmap areas started showing up with the Brynnlaw area icon. Looking into the world map with NearInfinity, I see that these areas don't seem to be linked to any map icons...

My SoD install is from GoG, as an add-on/DLC to my BG:EE install, and I think I have taken the necessary steps to make the SoD content available properly: certainly the areas and resources loaded just fine, it's just the area icons on the world map that seem to be missing. Any help would be much appreciated!

You probably did not patch the BP-BGT Worldmap prior install - the patch would have added the missing map icons.http://gibberlings3.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=27741

I did try to review that thread, and concluded that using the Big World Setup tool ought to have been sufficient. Reviewing it again, I still can't see where the patch I should have applied is indicated... In my most recent install, I was careful to have the Big World Setup fetch and use entirely fresh mod packages, and I made sure that I ran the MODMERGE tool before starting the install. I do apologize if I'm being obtuse, but I would appreciate any additional clarity that might be able to be provided in figuring out where I went wrong...

Edit:

Additional investigation has revealed that the SoD map icons appear to be available in their own isolated BAM file, "BDSODMAP.BAM" which was not integrated into the BP-BGT Worldmap area icons file, BPBGTMAP.BAM. I'm guessing that somewhere I haven't been able to find yet there's a patched version of something that either adds the SoD icons or tells the BP-BGT map install process to merge the two BAM files. The BP-BGT Worldmap area index does seem to expect the SoD icons to exist in BPBGTMAP.BAM, as the SoD areas are configured with icon index references appropriate to the SoD BAM file contents being appended to the BPBGTMAP.BAM file... If there's an easy way to do that using NI, I'd be happy to manually change the resources...

2nd Edit:

Figured out how to merge the BAMs and update the Worldmap Area entry icon indices to use the correct images, so my map is fixed, but I'm still puzzled as to what I should have done prior to installing bia the Big World Setup to achieve this result without having to manually edit the resources. Sorry for being a bother.

I linked your report to the BWS threat http://www.shsforums.net/topic/56670-big-world-setup-an-attempt-to-update-the-program/?do=findComment&comment=592983 so that the BWS experts can have a look at it.

Thanks very much! Sorry if I pursued this in the wrong place, I wasn't sure if the map icon BAM merge was a thing that was supposed to be managed by EET for the SoD icons in the context of EET being an all-in-one-merge dealie, or if the merge ought to have been handled by the BP-BGT Worldmap in the context of that being the worldmap mod I'd selected, or what...

Doskious, I got the same exact problem.

Could you please explain how you merge those .BAM files please ?

I found the same problem with my currently running BWS installation for EET. The maps bamfile it has is wrong (just 150kb instead of 234) - it is missing the SoD icons.

I replaced the file in the bp-bgt_worldmap\bam\ee folder with the full onebpbgtmap.zip

I am still not at the point where worldmap is installed but I hope it will spare me the trouble.

Seems to be a BWS issue.

Not sure if simply putting the bam into override will solve it but chances are high..

thank Roxanne

i just try by simply reinstalling the worldmap with your fixe, and it work for most SOD area

( the 5 *.PVRZ from the bigworldfixpack are require too)

I have still a problem with 'adoy enclave' (now it's a black square on the worldmap)

Hi Jarno

Pictures people, pictures or it didn't even happen.

I cannot post .jpg nor .gif in this forum :undecided: but you can trust me

You really need a LOT of imagination to get an idea of how a black square looks like...

To actually know what's off, it might be a little more intuitive than NOT !

And you knew this, so why the hell not tell to other people, not seeing the full picture ?

You can upload a picture to a site that accepts them(google gives a 882 000 000 responces to "image upload" search) and then just link to the image directly with [ img ] www.address [ / img ] without the spaces in the img tags.

Corrected file was added to BWFixpack, thanks Roxanne
