Suggested Tweak: Ankheg Plate and Dragon Scale armor usable by druids?

It's clear that the rules are, Druids aren't allowed *metal* armor. They can wear Leather but not Studded Leather.

(And yet fighter-druids can wear whatever armour they like.)

I believe that having armour made of Dragon skin or Ankheg shell is, as far as the morality of nature is concerned, no different to having armour made from the skin of a cow, one type of animal hide should be equivalent to another - and thus, that druids should be allowed legally to wear the various Dragon scale mails (Shadow, White, Blue, Red in original BG2, plus any from mods) and Ankheg Plate armour (from BG1 and BG2) - if they are strong enough.

(Also: If using the mod that allows Druids to be any type of Neutral, not just True Neutral, then a Neutral Evil druid should be allowed to wear the Human Skin armour in BG2, since only Evil alignments may wear it.)

(I would also suggest that Half-Orcs be allowed to wear the human skin regardless of alignment.)

Yeah but a good half-orc is 1) not an orc (Charname was raised by humans) and 2) Good. I don't see it.

Anyway there's no way to code it.

There is, just allow all druids able to do it. You forgot the fact that "there's no way" is a wall... that can be gone around however one wishes.

Besides, half-orc is whatever the halves want them to be... charname, is an orphan that was kicked out of his home, when their father was killed. How much sympathy do you think there's left in them ?

Druid doesn't equal to good. The MOST characteristic feature of a druid is naturalism, and neutrality. You conquer and you kill and you own it, sounds a lot like skin armor. Cow skin, human skin, what's the difference ?

Now if you talk about not have the ability to make only half-orc druids being able to wear it, then yeah. But there's opcode in the EE games that you could probably use in this.

Okay, to be more specific: the OP talked about allowing half-orc (and half-human) non-druids of Good alignment, raised by Good humans, to knowingly wear armor made of human skin that is normally restricted to Evil peeps. This armor has the box checked that restricts it from being worn by anyone of Good alignment. "Just allow druids to use it" is therefore not a solution. Even the new opcode that allows shamans to use axes is not a good solution, because that restriction is based on class, not alignment. Overcoming alignment-based restrictions with this opcode would necessarily be more complicated and less reliable.

There's nothing specific about it only restricting to CLASS !!!!!½ Did you actually read the thing at all ?
