Umm, is this a joke?

Just got to Suldanessalar and ...I make a random guess that the Deheriana .cre file was created as an exported player, because she still has the Bhaalspawn spells ;)

(and, coupled with the fact that IMHO D's soundset is a bit too loud, makes this part of the mod a little ;) to me... Especially since (without starting another thread about Silvanus' armpits) I believe that an off-putting detail is a sign of a too lazy modder, and I tend to be wary of possible additional bugs in the mod, which reduces said mod's enjoyment.

I was just posting as my usual habit (which involves to-the-point and a bit of irony). Obviously, you may have different posting habits. ;)

 

I ensure you that, if I wanted to be insulting, I'd have posting 'you are an idiot' or something, and that if Domi felt insulted I'd offer prompt apologies.

Well, yes, I have different posting habits, but apart from that I didn't say that I personally would have conceived your post as a little impolite, I just pointed out that in my view others might do so and that this might be the cause for the comment made above. Of course, I can be wrong, so maybe he just wanted to comment on something else.

 

(Um... and I admit that my comment might have been a little pointless. ;))

Heh, nope, I am not insulted. I created the CRE from the character with the few innates available on purpose, because initially Deheriana was the triple-class, lvl 7 coming at the end of ToB, so I wanted her to have a little bit of extra abilities until she gets her major improvement. It also works well with her magical CREs because she gets a few priestly spells that way, hence justifies that Kivan reffers to her as a healer. I did not think it will really irk anyone.

 

Feel free to suggest what will work better, but I am no kit savvy, so I won't be able to do anything exotic.

 

As for soundsets, and all sort of soundwork, I think that there are still stickies everywhere ( for example: http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?showtopic=5513 ), with me asking for help with editing sounds. As I can't myself hear the difference (am not gifted with musical talents of any sort) and nobody volounteered to help, this was never done by anyone who can do it decently. If anyone wants to edit soundfiles for me (and voice Kivan) they are very very welcome.

Well, you could EG point it out in the readme ;)

I played with FMC Deheriana, so probably that version could have those spells removed. If you want to give non-FMC Deheriana some healing spells via her spellbook (or as kit abilities) and need help, just gimme a shout ;)

I don't want to start a new topic for this, so I'll just put it down here quickly:

Is it intentional that you get the banter that starts with "Careful, vanimaer! You have nearly-" as a PID? This surprised me a little, so I thought I'd ask if this was intentional.

Heh, I am not looking at you, just saying I can't really do a good soundwork.

 

Does anyone else have objections to Deheriana FMC having innates? My concern is that she is very weak when she comes into the party, and while it does not take long for her to get healed, I sort of liked having a few extra spells on her myself. Ot should it just be limited to one CLW or something a-la Baldur's Gate 1 NPCs?

I believe that this may happen if he was just about to trigger it himself, but you force talked him.

 

Since there is no way to guess if you've been force talked or not, the game just scans through the dialogue file and pick the first state with a true condition; usually, the PID comes after all other states and is always true, IE it gets picked if there were no other valid option; if the condition for a Kivan Initiated Dialogue is true, then said dialogue will trigger even if you're trying to get the PID.

No, it is actually not PID. What happens sometimes, is that the banter did not manage to initiate properly while Global gets set (you moved the party for example), and since the Global is valid, and the Player initiated dialogues are fed from the same J file, you can get it via J. It does not happen in other mods, because most use Interact for their lovetalk sequences. I have been scarred for life though with using B+Interact and the problems with the Weigthing so I prefer to have every scripted dialogue on J file. At least then they do not substitute one another.

 

EDIT: What Bigg said is also possible.

Well, having the same set of abilities as a CG <CHARNAME> looks odd, and may be mistaken as a leftover; perhaps you could change the set to 2 Cure Light Wounds, 1 Delay Poison and 1 Cure Medium Wounds, so that it is a bit less evident ;)

That's fine then, thanks. It doesn't really matter anyway, I was just a little confused.

Another little thing I experienced today was that directly after the nightmare banter that same banter triggered again, but since it didn't seem to cause any problems, that shouldn't be grave either.

 

As for Deheriana, I think it's nice if she has a few innate abilities, although I would agree to bigg's suggestion to make slight changes to those abilities so that she won't have exactly the same as the PC.

I am not exactly sure why that banter repeats itself. It seems to have a valid code closing the Global on it, and I have no Interacts for Aerie. That's something which really really disturbs me actually. Will you be so kind as to perhaps go to your override and send me a copy of BAERIE.DLG? I want to see what you have after that banter on it.
