Hello, you wonderful modders!

I've actually lurked on this forum for years because I use quite a bit of your stuff - really, really great stuff - and now, 20 years late, I have BG:EE on steam and figured I could use your wonderful NPC packs.

Trouble is, the download links give me a 404 not found error.

I get to this step without trouble, and then clicking on actual wanted file (marked as 0 bytes, too) gives a not found error.

Also, while I'm at it, I searched the forums and tried the readme but found no instruction on installing the mod on steam, and googling BG:EE steam mods gives me a lot of people saying "well check for each mod separately because their makes know best."

I apologise for probably covering old ground, but I'm really late to the party, and I'd love to try what looks like a spectacular mod.

Edit: I also managed to post this topic twice, sorry! Can someone please delete the duplicate?

OMG it all works so smoothly!

I can't believe how daunting the prospect seemed, to work out what to do with steam and mods, and how easy it turned out to be.

Things seem to work beautifully, too. The NPCs say things to me! Woo! Thank you so much for your help.

Hello Cyktua,

The download links are fixed. Thanks for pointing that out.

As for installing the mod, if you have Siege of Dragonspear installed from Steam, you will need to use modmerge first.

https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/50441/modmerge-merge-your-steam-gog-zip-based-dlc-into-something-weidu-nearinfinity-dltcep-can-use/p1

Download and place the modmerge program beside your game data folder (i.e., modmerge.exe should be sitting beside chitin.key), and run it. This will make your game compatible with mods.

After that, download the BG1NPC installer. To install, simply double-click the archive and follow the instructions on screen.

Thank you for your time and help! It all worked smoothly and without any big problems, I'm seriously so excited about the npcs having more personality.
