Strange battle with Torgal

Not entirely sure that this belongs here, but it seems the most likely suspect. Playing BG2:EE 1.3 with SCS v29 (and a bunch of other mods including Item Upgrade) on my Mac and found TorGal unkillable (lingering at NearDeath despite multiple fire-based attacks) and had to resort to a Ctrl-Y to finish the battle. Annoying, but the really strange thing was that various pieces of equipment were stripped from a couple of NPCs, plus my protagonist. The exact list was:

Dorn: Shield Amulet

PC: Full Plate, Amulet of Magic Shielding, and the Girdle of Piercing

Edwin: Knave's Robe

I found the items as I killed TorGal and his various minions; it certainly explained why TorGal was inflicting so much damage on my PC!

I have a quick save from before I started the battle and I can post the Weidu of all my mods if necessary.

Yes, casting remove fear spell before this fight is a good idea.

for Torgal unkillabe - order your party members to stop hitting him (turn AI off or send them to the other side of the room) and wait for Trogal to fall down. When he's down he should be killable again - finish him off with acid or fire spell or weapon with elemental entchantment fire/acid (stonefire, flail of the ages). If he will NOT fall down, well, there's a real bug.

There's actually much better and elegant solution for unkillabe trolls (and couple of others things), a really nice tweak available here - Polytweak http://gibberlings3.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=25724 absolutely fantastic work. not only unkillable trolls are fixed, also that extremely annoying bugged invisibility of spirit trolls is removed (also all of the "unkillable mechanics" is clearly and properly described in the readme by the mod author!!). Only I'm not sure about Mac compatibility.

Polytweak doesn't touch Torgal (yet).

I had cast Remove Fear as part of my pre-battle buffs, although I'd forgotten about doing Chaotic Commands and Jahiera spent almost the entirety of the battle staring at a wall in confusion. However, the loss of the equipment may very well have been a result of some sort of bug in the Cloak of Fear's implementation. All of the other trolls that I fought fell down properly on NearDeath while in combat so I'm not sure why TorGal would be different and require a brief interval without combat to properly work.

And while I can't be sure about it, I think that my opponents had the lost equipment; it hadn't fallen on the floor where I might have noticed it. I'm not sure if that's how the equipment drop is supposed to work, although they simply might have picked up the stuff in passing.

It may be that Remove Fear doesn't keep you safe from this effect, but it keeps you safe from loosing control. I play with Spell Revisions for a long time now, I don't even remember how the spell works in vanilla. I do remember the annoyance when equipment drop happens however.

Just ran a test and TorGal is definitely stripping my people of their equipment and he is unkillable. If I backed off for a round or two, he'd regenerate enough to go back to badly injured despite a steady bombardment by Hexxat's Arrows of Fire from the Tuigan Bow.

I don't remember how the Cloak of Fear works in vanilla either, but if it's causing people to drop equipment despite being protected from fear, then I call BS. It stripped equipment from Dorn despite being protected from fear by virtue of his Blackguard kit! What sense does that make?

I can confirm that:

- vanilla's Cloak of Fear has Drop Item opcode (many fear effects have it in vanilla)

- vanilla's Remove Fear grants protection from fear opcode, but not from Drop Item opcode

I almost forgot how many of these things we fixed back than. :)

That looks like a potential culprit. I suppose you should do changelog next, but that's not my area of expertise...

Probably something messed up Torgal death script. Newest EE update changed the way trolls die, I don't really know if that has anything to do with Torgal + Improved De'Arnise component. If you can still kill him with CTRL+y, I'd do that after he's downed, and not bother with him. The one difference I found in between old and EE Torgal is (other than death script, but all trolls are changed with this) a special item he wears - it should cast a spell on him when he's near death that makes him "downed" and immune to all but fire/acid damage for 20 seconds after which he's death immune again (see the s*** trolls do to this game?? For the love of Bhaal....), but that would well make him slayable...
