Valiant
Hi Avenger, long time ago you were working on ToB stripdown project or something like that. I would like to ask, if it is still available somewhere or not. I know it was buggy, and when you were starting a new game as a mage, game crashed. My point is I would like to work on GUI for some mod, but I do not want to have the whole game installed. What is the exact procedure to ripp all unimportant stuff from the ToB game? I want it only for GUI test purposes, so I need dialog.tlk to contain at least all GUI strings, and perhaps a few strings when player choose a new game as a mage and picking up some spells at the beginning. So no creatures, no items, no aeras (...I will do my own for this purposes and will modify STARTAREA), no movies... Just the working core. Would it be hard for you to write some precise tut for me how to handle all this? If not, post it somewhere or send it to me via mail. Big thanks Link to comment
Cuv
If Avenger doesnt have it... I have the TC_Core_ToB that I got from Ken many years ago. I use it to test things. Was also working on GUI stuff back then. Cuv Link to comment

Valiant
Already downloaded without any problems, file is working... Thanks. Although I would like to know how can one make such core either. Some tut would be fine... Once again, big thanks. Link to comment
Avenger
Simply, cut pieces you don't need This really depends on how much you want to drop. We also did something for DLTC, but the dialog stripdown caused more trouble than good. I think it was one of many factors why Max stopped working on it Link to comment

O was tihinking that it has normal CHU file like the others, but it looks like it is hardcoded somehow. I know in TUTUGUI it has been solved, don´t know how. It must have some resources to modify... Any help? Link to comment
Avenger
It is not a normal .chu file (only in gemrb), hehe. The files: GPROGBAR.MOS, COADBAR.BAM Link to comment

But it must have some resoursce to adjust every component on that main background. I wonder how was it done in TUTUGUI then... Link to comment
Valiant
Hi again, ok, I have modified main loading screen MOS to one that suits my needs. Didn´t moved that progress bar animation, because I want it during my loadscreen is showed up. But I wanted to ged rid of that stupid middle animation - those two heads facing each other, glowing on the borders at the end. I was thinking that it is animation COADCNTR.BAM. So I made my own, totally blank. Everything is working, except when loading progress bar, thus loading itself is near the end, those two heads are back for a second, like it was a final frame or something. I want to have only progress bar there, without that stupid middle BG2:SoA logo animation... Can´t get it to work properly... Any ideas? Link to comment
Valiant
You really think I haven´t tried? I have searched all .MOS and .BAM files, but with no success... Only .BAM I found was COADCNTR, but as I said, a made my own. Not working at all. At the end those two heads are back. Link to comment
igi
It's definately possible (I've done it, a while ago). When I finish installing stuff on my new PC I'll have a dig around. Link to comment
Valiant
I have solved it finally. There were two files, one called COADCNTR and the other one called LOADCNTR. Both of them are nearly the same, dimensions are totally the same. So I made them both transparent and not it is working. Thank to all. Link to comment
