lastknightleft
Hi, I've been a member for a while, but for the life of me if there's a place for people to get updates on the release of the EE edition for the NPC project, I can't for the life of me find it. I'm so eager for this I'm practically salivating. Anywho, if someone would let me know where I can find updates, or at least an ETA that'd be great. Link to comment

lastknightleft
whatever, I know not of these editions you techno wizards babble about! I merely click download and play. I want to know when I will be able to do such computer sorcery! Link to comment
Dakk
To use a minimum amount of techno-babble ( ), I believe you can just download and play the latest pre-release version right now. If you are familiar with installing mods for BG you just follow standard procedure. Link to comment

If you are familiar with installing mods for BG you just follow standard procedure. Erhm, isn't it rather that one has to go here, and use the "Download ZIP" thingy, and then extract the content (bg1npc -folder and the "setup-bg1npc.exe" -file for PC users) to the game directory and then run the .exe ... rather than doll eye the project page that has this: "BG1NPC v21 Prerelease 2014-12-31" which does nothing in downloading terms ! -that's how you remove the techno-babble. Direct instructions, not scriptures of ones beliefs. -jep, a bible joke. Well... Link to comment

Well... Really? I'm pretty sure you can just click "Source code (zip)" and be on your merry way. As I said, if you know how to install BG mods - with Weidu - this isn't hard. If you don't, then yes, more instructions are needed. But as OP has been a member for more than 4 years, I gave him/her the benefit of the doubt. Link to comment

AstroBryGuy
There's a new version posted. Hopefully this will quash the latest reported issues with Coran's Quest and NPCs Wait at Inns and v21 will follow soon. http://github.com/AstroBryGuy/BG1NPC/releases/tag/v21-PR_20150115 I also added installation instructions on the release page. I can't get past the step one because I can't find a chitin.key in my baldur's gate file folders. So thanks for the link and the link but maybe next time try to realize that not everyone is that great with this stuff Link to comment
lastknightleft
I guess I'll just wait for a weidu that works with ee. Link to comment
AstroBryGuy
WeiDU already works with the EEs, so no need to wait. I'm happy to help you out, but without knowing which platform you're running on, it's rather hard to give good advice. Are you running BGEE on Windows, OSX, Linux, iOS, or Android? If it's one of the latter two, sorry. The dialog.tlk isn't normally editable on those devices (well, if you've jailbroken your iPad, you can, but I don't know how to do that). For Linux - Sorry, don't know about install locations. If you're on OSX, first, you need to locate the Resources folder of your BGEE game, which is where you will install mods. Open up a Finder window, and locate your BGEE application package (see below). Right click on the app and select "Show Package Contents". Go to "Contents/Resources". This is your Resources folder. If you're not sure where the BGEE app is for OSX, see my guide at http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/31155/the-hitchhikers-guide-to-installing-mods-on-osx/p1. For Windows, if you bought the game from Beamdog, AFAIK the directory should be C:\Program Files\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\Data\00766 (assuming you installed to the default directory on your C: drive). If you bought it from Steam or GOG, I guess it should be something similar to C:\[WHEREVER STEAM/GOG PUTS FILES]\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\Data\00766. The key is that the game directory you want will be that Data\00766 subdirectory under the Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition directory. Link to comment
