BigRob Posted December 24, 2006 Share Posted December 24, 2006 Well, it's Christmas Eve once again (well, here), so in my small tradition of a yearly bit of spoilerism, I'm handing out a couple of small flirts and a player initiated dialogue chunk. So read, give criticism and enjoy your end-of-year festival of choice. PC: [Play with the laces on Aklon’s breeches] Aklon (Random): (Aklon looks up and smiles as you approach, his eyes gazing into yours. Those eyes soon track downward though, following your hands as they take up the laces at the front of his breeches, watching as you begin to tease at the knot that holds them closed. His eyes remain on your fingers as their work for a little while, before he looks up, one eyebrow cocked inquisitively and a sly smile on his lips) Now, what is in your mind, I am wondering. PC: 1. I’m wondering why you make this damn knot so complicated. 2. Others.... Aklon (Random): (Aklon’s sly smile widens into a grin) Why, to give you something interesting to do, beloved. [End] PC: Aklon, can you help me with a problem? Aklon: Of course my love, if I am able. What is the trouble? PC: 1. I’ve got an itch right in the middle of my back and I can’t quite reach, could you scratch it for me? 2. Others.... Aklon (Random): I can indeed. Aklon: (Aklon ‘s hand alights on your back, scratching in circles until he finds the spot bothering you. Once there, his fingers scrabble pleasantly at the itch and he bends down to nuzzle and kiss the nape of your neck, his warm breath playing across your skin) Is my lady comfortable once more? [End] PC: I’d like to hear about this education of yours. Aklon: My education and my childhood are inextricably linked, since they were essentially the same thing. I was raised in the house of a powerful mage and it was he, along with some of his servants, who educated me. PC: 1. So exactly what did your education cover? (Z) 2. Others... Aklon (Z): It was very wide ranging, covering many areas. There was combat, of course, both armed and unarmed, alchemy, the lore of herbs and healing, mechanics, magical theory and practice, divination, languages and a smattering of other subjects. PC: 1. That’s… a lot of subjects. (Z.Z) 2. I don’t suppose your spell-casting master taught you much about combat. (Z.Y) 3. Others.... Aklon (Z.Z): (Aklon nods) Indeed, many areas of study were required of me. I have always been curious, however, so my studies were not onerous to me. PC: 1. Surely you weren’t interested in all the things you had to study. (Z.Z.Z) 2. Studious, aren’t you? (Z.Z.Y) Aklon (Z.Z.Z): There were areas I favoured, particularly unarmed combat and herbal lore, but there were no areas that I disliked. (Aklon smiles wryly) My thirst for knowledge may be somewhat overdeveloped. (End Dialogue) Aklon (Z.Z.Y): To a fault, perhaps. (End Dialogue) Aklon (Z.Y): No indeed. While my master had a number of skills, he knew precious little of combat. I had two main tutors for the martial arts. The first was Zardos the Sellsword, who was a devotee of war, so to speak. Not a priest, exactly, but more than a simple warrior. The second was a man named Tekashi. He was a master of the Koshikami style of battle, who had traveled west from Kozakura, in Kara-Tur, in order to improve upon his already formidable skill. PC: 1. How much training did you do? (Z.Y.Z) 2. What did Zardos teach you? (Z.Y.Y) 3. Others.... Aklon (Z.Y.Z): Combat training was not at set times, but depended on when my tutors were free. Still, combat practice was typically seven or eight hours a day, though I was not under direct supervision all the time. PC: 1. When did you find time for all that other study? (Z.Y.Z.Z) 2. That’s fairly intense training. (Z.Y.Z.Y) 3. Others... Aklon (ZY.Z.Z): While my body rested from its exertions, I could exercise my mind. There are many hours in a day. PC: 1. Didn’t you have any time to yourself? (Z.Y.Z.Z.Z) 2. I suppose so. [End] 3. Others... Aklon (Z.Y.Z.Z.Z): A little. Each day I had six hours to myself. Including sleeping time, but not meals, which were usually taken whilst I was being taught. (End Dialogue) Aklon (Z.Y.Z.Y): Both Zardos and Tekashi trained for a much longer time each day. There were both very, very devoted to their training, however and I had other things to learn. (End Dialogue) Aklon (Z.Y.Y): Zardos taught me weapon fighting mostly, though his instructions also included unarmed combat, military strategy, tactics and other facets of the arts of war. PC: 1. Then why include Tekashi as well? (Z.Y.Y.Z) 2. He sounds like a perfect tutor for a warrior. (Z.Y.Y.Y) 3. Others.... Aklon (Z.Y.Y.Z): My master thought that exposure to multiple theories of battle would improve my overall performance in combat. Tekashi and Zardos taught me the same subjects, each from their own viewpoint. (End Dialogue) Aklon (Z.Y.Y.Y): Zardos was a very focused man and knew a great deal about almost all aspects of war. He had a great deal to teach and I never managed to absorb all he had to impart. (End Dialogue) Link to comment

I hope you and yours have a pleasant Christmas and New Year (or what-ever holiday applies !). Your Christmas tease, ugh, I mean present is greatly appreciated. I only saw two little possible typos (look below your quote). I am really looking forward to Aklon's mod, the interaction you have shown us through out your forum between Aklon and the PC promises to be very enjoyable. I'll admitt it, I am a sucker for a bit of romance and verbal sparring. Please keep up the hard work! The second one is an odd choice of words to try and help with Aklon's "voice"... I'll take another look at that one. That first one, now that' an error, I'll just be correcting that now. If the PC is playing with Aklon's laces, as is stated at the beginning of the flirt sequence, then she has already approached him. (I hope I'm making sense.) I'll try to get through the remaining banters/interactions as quickly as possible so that everyone can get their hands on Aklon sooner rather than later. I already fixed the kiss flirts to take that kind of thing into account, but I'll have to fix that and go over the others to make sure I haven't left in any more truck sized logical holes lying about.
