What am i doing wrong ?

Hi,

 

Trying to get this working with Baldurs gate 1 & TOSC 5 cd version on vista, heres what i'v done so far:

 

Turned off UAC

Installed all disks to E:\gaming\black isle\baldurs gate

Unticked read only on BG folder

installed patch 114315 uk and TOSC uk patch both from bioware site

ran widescreen mod

 

I get exe patching failed

 

Is there something i'v missed ?

I Have just realized i havent installed all cds to my hard drive, i have done a full cutom install and am putting cds onto hdd now.

Ok, are you running a different language version, because usually the patching doesn't fail like that.

 

Else, wait for Bigg to turn up, shouldn't be more than a few hours.

I will post back to see if copying the cd's onto HDD fixes it.

I doubt it will, as copying the cd's won't help with an exe patch.

On the TOTSC disk there is a patch that is 6 MB and the one i got from bioware website is only 3 MB. Maybe i should try installing that one instead.

downloaded the dx 8 patch and it says to not install if tales of the sword coast is installed which it is.

no, don't install the DX8 one. WSM is not compatible with that patch.
