The setup.tra for this mod is brief and ought to be pretty easy - wherever possible I've taken strings directly from dialog.tlk, so there's not so much to do.

There is, however, a complication: there is also a section of this mod that adjusts item usability, and updates item descriptions to match the new restrictions. These phrases are not in the .tra. Because AD&D has its own peculiar technical jargon, I cannot simply refer to a dictionary to find out how "Swashbuckler" is written in Flemish BGII. I'd need the following phrases, as they're usually written in an item description:

~Not Usable By:~

~Any Neutral or Evil Character~

~Druid~

~Cleric~

~Mage~

~Thief~

~Fighter~

~Bard~

English language BGII was none too consistent here: it's possible to find "Not usable by:" "Not Usable By:" "Unusable by:" ...etc. Mods tend to exacerbate the inconsistencies. So if you happen to think of multiple ways something might be written, feel free to include all of them. E.g. the German might be

~NOT_USABLE_BY~ ~Kann nicht verwendet werden von:~

~NEUTRAL_OR_EVIL~ ~Neutral oder Böse~

~DRUID~ ~Druide~

~CLERIC~ ~Kleriker~

~THIEF~ ~Diebe~

~FIGHTER~ ~Kämpfer~

~MAGE~ ~Magier~

~BARD~ ~Barde~

but if the nouns are somtimes plural, please let me know.

Thanks ;)

If it's not in code tags, the forum here will probably convert to unicode autostupidly.

I should be able to covert it back though. Thank you ;)

I liked to test this mod, but there are some strings in an unknown language for me when modifying the .tp2 for the Castilian section of the install...

Also, respect your question about translation of some strings:

~NOT_USABLE_BY~ ~No lo puede usar:~
~NEUTRAL_OR_EVIL~ ~Cualquier personaje de alineación neutral o maligna~
~DRUID~ ~Druida~
~CLERIC~ ~Clérigo~
~THIEF~ ~Ladrón~
~FIGHTER~ ~Guerrero~
~MAGE~ ~Mago~
~BARD~ ~Bardo~

Although the first of them is relative, as I've seen in a lot of spanish translations at least 5 or 6 different forms to say this.... So I don't know if this could help.

Well... good luck with this mod... it seems very appropiate that it could modify the class for the NPCs....

Regards.

Yes, this is something Nythrun herself suspected when writing this code. So if you want to post any alternate forms you've seen, that would help. Basically, all that does is if you choose to alter weapon usability, it will also try to modify the item descriptions accordingly (and the more variations we cover, the better it should work).

Thanks for the translation - I'm sure cmorgan can add it for the next release :).

Hi Miloch!

Well... two more sentences found in spanish translations:

"No lo pueden usar:" (this is the plural form of the first - maybe good idea to normalize :))

"No permitido a:"

Maybe there are more...

Another question is about the .tp2 strings which some of them I could not translate nor I don't know where to put them.... because of an unknown language... polish?

EDIT:

About the .TP2 thing, sorry... it is my mistake. The only thing left to translate it's the first paragraph when executing mod... "The LEVEL1NPCS/LEVEL1NPCS.TP2 mod has 41 distinct......"

About the .TP2 thing, sorry... it is my mistake. The only thing left to translate it's the first paragraph when executing mod... "The LEVEL1NPCS/LEVEL1NPCS.TP2 mod has 41 distinct......"
Oh, that's just a general WeiDU message. Did you test it with your translation and it's still in English? If so, it sounds like a WeiDU bug.

[Edit: Though we should probably add an ASK_EVERY_COMPONENT to the tp2 anyway, cmorgan/Nythrun. I can't imagine someone just installing all components of this mod without making choices... it's not like that's even possible anyway.]

Yes, it is. I've modified .TP2 adding LANGUAGE section for Castilian version, and his paths.

The strings in the install are seen in spanish, although this first message does not. The install goes well... it is a good AND very interesting mod.

Although after installing the mod, i've tested it giving to Imoen the kit "Bounty Hanter" ("cazarrecompensas" in spanish), but after beginning a BG1 game in BGT and joining her after Candlekeep.... she has the thief class anyway. Is it as is? I have a lot of mods and to install this there has been a lot of uninstalling of previous mods.......

Maybe Off-topic... must I open a new thread for this?

Yes, it's probably best if you start a new topic and post your WeiDU.log. I suspect you might have the SCS "Allow player to choose NPC proficiencies and skills" component, which means L1NPCs will skip certain NPCs. In this case, it would've allowed you to change the BG2 Imoen but not the BG1 Imoen.

Also, if you don't mind reporting the WeiDU glitch in the PPG forum. It could be WeiDU doesn't have a translation for that string, but it should.

Ok. I thought that, SCS didn't leave change the kit class to Imoen :). I had installed it and with the component you've said.

Respect the spanish string, I've opened a thread on PPG:

Hope this helps.

Are you saying you have a French translation? If so, just attach it here (or if G3 doesn't let you attach things, you may have to upload it elsewhere and post the link). You could just post it in a codebox like above, but some browsers will mess up accented characters (for example I see "versión" instead of "versión" above).
