Revised Armors

If you make it possible, wouldn't this component destroy the barbarian balance? I mean, why would I take barbarian, if a berserker via armor could reach higher % physical resistance?

Barbarian's innate resistance goes up to 20% (probably 40% with KR's HLAs but that's another story), which means a naked barbarian would have the same res as a Berserker with full plate.

A Barbarian with chain mail or splint mail will still have clearly superior resistance (by 10% or 15%) or he can wear light armors to keep full mobility (e.g. not suffer any DEX or speed penalty) while still retaining slightly superior physical resistance.

Barbarian vs Berserker

Thanks. So basically, you sacrifice thaco+ damage if you use the grandmaster tweak, for a superior % physical resistance.

Well, yeah, if you compare the two vanilla's kits that's probably the most noticeable difference, though there are other "minor" differences such as Barbarian's d12 hit points and immunity to backstab, and the two rages were technically slightly different (e.g. one increases STR/CON, the other directly gives the thac0/damage/hit points bonuses - technically different, but almost identical in terms of concpet and game-play).

Within KR instead we are trying to make the two kits play in a unique way of their own, differentiating all their features as much as possible.

kk, thank you. I admit that I still find the berserker rage superior, due to the fact that you can reach high strength\const points in Bg.

I wonder one thing about the cleave "effect". Is it cumulative? Do you get bonus even after the third kill or..??

Ehm...we are starting to go a bit too often off topic here. :D Anyway:

- you confused the two rages, it's the Barbarian's one which grant STR/CON. Overall I think instead Berserker Rage was slightly better, mostly because they (erroneously imo) made it improve AC instead of worsening it. Coupled with heavy armor and no DEX penalties, vanilla's Berserker had a much better AC when enraged compared to an enraged Barbarian (a difference of 4-7 points of AC is a huge deal imo).

- assuming you are asking of KR's Cleave, it's "once per round" as per description thus no, it's not cumulative but you can trigger it each round if you kill one enemy per round (not sure how often that happens unless fighting critters).

Kk, no more offtopic. I apologize. Thanks for the info

Revised Backstabbing

So currently the ranged version doesn't work for BG(2)EE, because ToBex is required for this component to work, but is there any particular reason to exclude BG(2)EE Users from installing the other two (melee) components? (I guess there is...)

No, that's an oversight. Fixed in git.

You can extend manually the engine check from ENGINE_IS ~soa tob~ to ENGINE_IS ~soa tob bgee bg2ee~ in TP2 (backstabbing is near the end of it).
