Lava
Foundling: Between the Shades BETA is available. The mod fully playable, may need some polishing. I've decided to made the BETA version available.Foundling is the thrall of Thaxll'ssillvia, the Shadow Dragon found in the Temple Ruins. He is cold, calculating, and determined to be freed from his influence. He can never oppose his master on his own, but everything can change thanks to the influence of the Bhaalspawn.Foundling is a Shadow Adept who can use Shadow Weave Magic as well as some Shadow Magic. The mod introduces a new kind of magic with its own advantages and disadvantages. Even though Foundling is recognised as a mage, he can't use the Weave. In exchange he is given his own dark spells - mostly dark versions of well known spells, but there are some brand new ones too.The mod is both an NPC and quest mod and introduces new characters, areas, music, items, soundset etc.Foundling is not romanceable, but the character will still talk to you frequently, so no worries. lynx
Interesting. Do you have a longer description of this spell system somewhere? Link to comment
Lava
Thanks! It's not as new as Kwiat_W's psionic - it's more or less like that: you get a mage that *can't* use usual spells - including scrolls. Foundling will still be recognised as a mage, though. He uses his own arcane magic that's based on Shadow Weave and Shadow Magic. Some spells are simillar, but since their source is different (Weave vs Shadow Weave thing) the effects are a bit different. They may be more stronger in some situations. However, you will find only some additional more spells on your gameplay + casting each spell (according to Return of the Archwizards books) will make you "experience" cold more - that will affect your resistance. Another different things are animations - casting dark spells will display dark animations + casting graphic is "black sparkes" (you might have seen it in the game already). Obviously all spells have new icons. What's more when it's nightime or when you're in the building, your magic will be 2 levels stronger than the moment you would cast them in daylight. Kit also has it's own HLA + once in a liftime, he may create a blade just for him. How strong the weapon is going to be depends on his level in the moment he creates it. Link to comment
Jarno Mikkola
It's not as new as Kwiat_W's psionic - it's more or less like that: you get a mage that *can't* use usual spells - including scrolls. This is a little here and there. In the normal game all the mage spells are specialist spells, but there are a few mods that make a few of the spells to not have a specialist class at all, which Foundling can learn even as he is flagged to have every mage specialist restriction flag out there, as he does. Kit also has it's own HLA + once in a liftime, he may create a blade just for him. How strong the weapon is going to be depends on his level in the moment he creates it.You might wish to add in a description that tells how the strength develops and if you get to make another in ToB portion. Cause that would make sense. Link to comment
