Cannot enter Coordinates

Guest Yvain

Recommended Posts

I am trying to use the mod with BG2 + TOB. When I run the mod, it gets to the enter X Coordinate then the enter Y coordinate so I enter both in.

It will display my picks and then repeat the request to enter X coordinate enter Y coordinate.

I am using a vanilla TOB with the latest patch.

Here is the log

Have you launched the game at all before you install mods to it, as you need to start a new game so it autosaves... as this ensures that the games files are appropriately setup right, and you can see if the game has errors that need to be fixed with proper options.

Here is the log
Erhm, what happened to the first entry on the log ? As it should display which WeiDU(.exe) version is used to launch the program:
WeiDU v 22600 Log

D:\Baldurs Gate 2\setup-widescreen.exe

...

The problem could be from that, as the next phase:
...

1366 x 768.

[./override/ar6111.are] loaded, 2776 bytes

Should ask you:
1366 x 768.

Are you sure? Y/N

Which then continues with:
User answer: "y"

<a lot of install text>

Sorry I must have missed that part when I highlighted everything

WeiDU v 22600 Log

I tried running the game config as well prior to it as well. The mod never makes it past the coord part. I don't get the yes or no question.

I have also tried a few different resolutions nothing changes.

I think this is a bug in v3.00 (if not, apologies to TheBigg).

Workaround: open widescreen/lib/get_dim.tpa in Notepad. Find the line

	WHILE ~%sure%~ STRING_COMPARE_CASE ~N~ && ~%sure%~ STRING_COMPARE_CASE ~Y~ BEGIN

near the bottom. Just before that line, add this line:

SPRINT ~sure~ ~~

Link to comment

I would actually say that this whole thing:

	PATCH_PRINT @20

WHILE ~%sure%~ STRING_COMPARE_CASE ~N~ && ~%sure%~ STRING_COMPARE_CASE ~Y~ BEGIN
  PATCH_PRINT @13
  PATCH_READLN sure

Needs to be replaced with:

		  PATCH_PRINT @20
	PATCH_PRINT @13
  PATCH_READLN sure

Cause the whole thing is in a WHILE&OUTER_PATCH ~~ BEGIN clauses ... that ends with:

	END
END
END

And the "PATCH_PRINT @20" is the dimensions: say the "1366 x 768" and the "PATCH_PRINT @13" is the "Are you sure? Y/N".

PS, there should be an exit too, but that shouldn't matter for now, as it can be quited with the corner X...

Not that I actually understand how any of that actually works, but I tried it, and I had a v3.00beta too diff from.

Hello, thanks for the fixes. After applying the first fix by DavidW I managed to set the game to 1920x1080 and find that everything is rendered a bit too small for me to cope with so I was after trying a lower resolution to make things appear larger. What I discovered was that uninstalling the widescreen mod does not render the resolution settings in BGConfig.exe operational and specifying a new resolution in the widescreen mod doesn't work either. The game is stuck at 1920x1080 now.

I have no additional mods installed and am running the latest non-beta patch for ToB.

After a bit of tinkering the MOD now no longer recognizes it self as already installed so it now errors out when it attempts to patch because it is expecting the unpatched CRC checksums of the files.

After reinstalling the game, I applied a resolution of 1600x900 and it worked great, right up to the point where I loaded my save game. After I loaded my save game, the game switched back to 1920x1080 and is now stuck on that resolution, even in the main menu before having loaded a save game.

So yeah, re-running the widescreen mod and choosing a new resolution doesn't work, once the game applies the resolution used by my save game (1920x1080) it won't change from it.

Yeah I know all that, you just install the game (I have a partition dedicated to games), ToB, ToB patch, Wide Screen MOD. All is fine and dandy at this point, my issue is the uninstall process for the MOD as well as the process for changing the resolution a 2nd (or more) time doesn't do anything other then state that it has been uninstalled/changed. You remove the MOD by re-running it and typing U at the appropriate prompt or going through all the prompts again and entering the desired resolution again.

Edit: Also loading a save game that was made when a resolution setting created by the Wide SCreen MOD is in effect results in the current resolution settings being permanently overwritten by the one used when the save game was created. The only way to change resolution is to reinstall the game , apply desired resolution and not use that save game.

So,

1) Run wide screen mod

2) set resolution of 1920x1080

3) start a game and save it

4) reinstall game as wide screen mod can't or won't remove/change anything it has already changed

5) select new resolution, example 1600x900

6) game loads and is running in 1600x900

7) load save game

8) game reverts to 1920x1080

9) due to #4, can't fix without reinstalling the game and you must avoid using that save game.

Well it isn't a UAC issue as I wouldn't have been able to set a resolution of 1920x1080 in the first place if it was. My monitor/video card/drivers supports 1600x900 so they aren't to blame. Drivers for everything are up to date including Direct X, Windows is fully patched etc..

I can provide the logs for when I do try to uninstall the MOD as well as a log for when I change the resolution a 2nd time.
