Styphelus
I can't get this to work with Icewind Dale 2. Clean install! First it would not install, so I changed the .bat file to say weidu-201-11.exe instead of weidu-201-09.exe. Finally got it to run only to get the following: Install Component [Widescreen mod]? nstall, or [N]ot Install or [Q]uit? Installing [Widescreen mod] Enter your X coordinate. It should be a number, > 800. 800 doesn't work due to lack of research. Is anybody interested?. 1600 doesn't work due to an hardcoded bug. It might be possible that 2048 is affected by either of those problems. Enter your Y coordinate. It should be a number, >= 600. Do you want fullscreen? (doesn't work for non-standard resolutions) 1 = yes 0 = no 1680x1050, fullscreen. Are you sure? Y/N Copying and patching 1 file ... the bigg
Are you sure you installed IWD2 correctly? That file should always be there. Also, try running the configuration program and the game, then try to install the widescreen mod again. Link to comment
Guest Guest
The file icewind2.ini is there. I tried deleting it and running the config again. Same problem over and over again. The game runs fine without the mod by the way. Link to comment
the bigg
Is it write-only? I know I'm doing ice climbing, but I can see no reason why it shouldn't work. Link to comment
Guest Guest
Nope. it's not read only. I installed the latest patch for IWD 2. Not sure if that would do anything. Will install the game again and try it one more time without the patch. Link to comment
the bigg
No, the patch is required. Which OS are you running? It looks like yours is being idiotic and doesn't undertand that '.' is the PWD. Link to comment
the bigg
Now I'm officially at a loss. Try opening (with Notepad) widescreen/lib/patch_ini.tpa. You'll see a line COPY ~%gameini%~ ~.~ change that into COPY ~%gameini%~ ~%gameini%~ repeat with widescreen/lib/patch_exe.tpa: COPY ~%gameexe%~ ~.~ change that into COPY ~%gameexe%~ ~%gameexe%~ and try installing again. Styphelus
WOW Thanks man! That worked like a charm. Now, are you planing on also fixing the gui? It's on the left side of the screen. Link to comment
the bigg
Thanks man! That worked like a charm. Sigh, microsoft sucks. Now, are you planing on also fixing the gui? It's on the left side of the screen. Do you mean the bar at the bottom of the screen in game mode? It is theoretically possible, but too cumbersome. --> it works in ToB and HoW, but the success is not portable because in IWD2 the 640x480,800x600 and 1024x768 GUIs are all left-aligned, meaning that it's difficult to center it and/or stretch it, without writing manually special cases (which aren't needed in BG2 and HoW). Also, it isn't possible to move/strectch the various screens ("Load Game", "Options", "Spell List"), it's only possible to center them like I do. Link to comment
