Cam is helping us with the sound 'overlay or not pause' problem - hopefully to be resolved in the upcoming V10.

Kulyok made an excellent head-start on Branwen's romance :D

Jastey is working away on putting finishing touches on the Ajantis romance

Jaheira's Quest finally seems to work without glitches - yay! but Coran's is still glitching

Dynaheir's romance entered the beta testing stage with me finally resolving (?) the problems with te concluding cutscene.

New additional PID options were written for the majority of the NPCs :)

and I just started coding Xan's romance - it is hopeless of course, but I will foolhardily try not to be defeated by the overwhelming foes.

Xan's Romance is ready to be alpha-tested. If anyone is interested in taking a sneak peek on it or any other material we are working on, while helping us out, you are very welcome to join our testing efforts :)

Well, we had been working very hard ;)

The full Ajantis Romance, is ready for group's alpha-testing

The core Branwen's Romance is ready for alpha-testing.

Xan's Romance had had a lot of additions to its flirtpacks and is very close to beta

Added 'romance-fixing' options for female PC romances, if the romance was authomatically terminated by another NPC's romance becoming committed (after you have broken up of course with all other suitors)

Alll additional PIDs that were submitted up to date were incorporated and are being alpha-tested

If it goes like that (and I keep my fingers crossed, while looking at the light in the end of the tunnel!) by the end of the month I'd be able to forecast the target release date. :)

And thank you for your enthusiasm and patience.

The principle coding is now complete. No major additions will be made. From now on, we will test and fix, fix and test. The new content added since the last progress report was:

- Two new romantic interludes for Xan

- A pack of NPC initiated flirts for Shar-Teel

- A pack of NPC initiated flirts for Coran

- A full flirt-pack (PC and NPC initiated) for Branwen

- Additional PIDs for Branwen.

- Delainy reactions for Branwen and Shar-Teel

- ‘Chose your man’ dialogues for Xan-Coran and Xan-Ajantis.

- Romance restoration player initiated option if other romance is disabled for Branwen and Dynaheir

I know, that it will cause some disappointment that a few of the quests were left out from the Phase III scope, but it just proved too much of the workload for now. We will decide what to do with them after Phase III is released. A number of fun NPC quests did make it into the Phase III.

19 October 2005 is a tentative release date for Phase III (a cookie to a person who knows the significance of the date). If things work smoothly, it could be earlier, if we run into serious troubles, I would let you all know how much longer it will take to troubleshoot and fix.

Let us hope that the next report will be ‘BG1NPC had gone gold’. Huh, back to the grindstone now.

PS: Need help testing

Nope, I am looking further back in history. Beginning of 19th century and connected with a bunch of very talented young people being gathered together under one roof, among them those who went on to become the greatest bards of their times - I see a certain... similarity :)

Testing involves playing something that have not been played yet and reporting bugs and glitches as you go :D

I'd be glad to play something that hasn't yet been played. I'm more familiar with where things and quests are, etc., in the early parts of the game (Cloakwood and earlier) because I never actually finished Baldur's Gate way back in the pre-Tutu days, but I have enthusiasm and a very fast laptop.

Hmm. Is that the date that Byron, Keats and the Shelleys sat down to tell ghost stories?

Kulyok had done an incredible and aweinspiring job with reviewing each and every file for punctuation, stray typos, standartisation, capitalization, and general embelishment of the 'look' of the dialogues for Phase I and II. She is now pouring over the Phase III. Let not a comma be missplaced and a round of applause! :)
