Successful OSX Instals (w/ SCS)?

Btw if EET is going to run a shell script at the end, and you want to create a desktop shortcut, just create a symlink to the game executable.

ln -s [executable] ~/desktop/EET
macOS basically treats symlinks as aliases. (I prefer not to have app shortcuts cluttering my desktop, I don't know how that became a trend... but, there you are.) Edited by subtledoctor

And you already have the BG2EE quick icon automatically assigned to the game in the folder.

No, game downloaded from Beamdog store doesn't create a shortcut. Otherwise I wouldn't bother to code it.

 

So there's players that could assume stuff, and have the "EET installed still" after uninstalling the BG2EE from the Control Panel, after all "you don't need the vanilla when you have the modified game"... but nope, that's not true.

shortcut will lose icon if mod is no longer present, so a chance for confusion is slim. I get it why some people don't like this feature. I still think it's handy (to some people).

subtledoctor, code for mac shortcuts has been removed and likely won't come back but thanks anyway.

Hi! Im so so excited to use this mod! But i am having some trouble figuring out what errors are coming up and why when running terminal. After installing the initial mods to BG:EE required before EET install, i go to use the mac weidu launcher for the EET install. I can get to the part where it asks for my directory and then I get an error message and roll back which i will attach here:

aliKater, I've just pushed RC11.1 on Github that hopefully fixes arch_var issue on macOS. No idea about the second problem mentioned by subtledoctor in this post, though. Can't reproduce it locally.
