AL|EN
Hello fellow adventurers, in order to make installing mods a better experience, I need feedback from you. So no matter if you install 1 mods with 3 components, 5 mods with 25 components or 100 mods with 1000 components, please fill this poll, so I could gather some info about installation of mods for IE games. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/16dH_cOUmhZ3iPFTwkJS9W_W7mUEr92IWZ9FxeKQb3h4 I would be grateful if this poll will get attention Quote Link to comment
jastey
Usage of the Fixpack? I assume you mean the BWPFixpack. If I read "Fixpack" I think of the BG2 Fixpack, so maybe this needs to be made clearer? Quote Link to comment

lynx
missing a "no backup" option. missing a wtf option to the categories question. missing an OS question, so us liberty lovers and macers won't skew the results too much. further automatic qa improvement would be to ifdef many of the questions depending on the initial bws answer. Many don't make much sense for plain users. Quote Link to comment

Many don't make much sense for plain users. 1. If you don't create backup, it means that you reinstall games after mods installation = "I rely only on Beamdog/Steam "Restore" or GoG as backups" 2. Use "I'm not concerned about mod categories at all" aka "I don't care" 3. No question is os-depended, linux and mac users always choose "no BWS" choices or post comments 4. Yes, but they can choose "I don't use BWS for conflicts solving" Quote Link to comment
lynx
How about uninstalling mods? Quote Link to comment
AL|EN
How about uninstalling mods? What do you mean? You are asking about feature to be able to uninstall mods or it's a suggestion to ask people how they uninstall mods? Quote Link to comment
lynx
No, why would you need backups when you can uninstall mods? Quote Link to comment
AL|EN
Because when you install 50+ mods and SCS, there is a huge chance that revert process will fail. I encounter such situation many times, especially when I used big mods for BGT. It has been improved for EE but if it happens only once, you need to restore full game. Quote Link to comment
Jarno Mikkola
... This; Because of the --make-biff is not uninstall friendly, within multiple component and mod auto uninstalls... while the make_biff today, is. This was age's ago thing in all the big mods(NEJ, TDD, SoS, CtB, TS-BP and, BGT-WeiDU, NeJ2 for the BG2, and also an old BP*, DSotSC, NTotSC, SoBH, Drizztsaga and the BG1NPCmusic). *This list is from at least ~2010 or older, so the code the mods use today have changed, but if you install the old versions of the mods, you'll run into this. Today, the BiG World Fixpack actually removes this biffing now by default, also cause it takes extra space, as well as the Generalized_biffing can be used that has no such feature.
