There's no effect on AC (afaik) but a lost level effectively affect thac0, hit points, saves and even spell slots for spellcasters. Does it have a similar effect on AI controlled characters and mobs? Yes, though I'm not 100% sure how it works exactly for creatures without a class. Link to comment
