MrSyms
I recently went about downloading all the latest versions of the mods I enjoy, including v30 from v21 of SCS. I've been having an issue with the "Allow player to choose NPC proficiencies and skills". It works for every character except Imoen. I have gone down to basics with my install, including only BGT and SCS to eliminate any conflicts and the issue still remains. My BG install is all original discs. Any thoughts? mikel123
The slaver wizard in Suna Seni's group doesn't seem to care about Improved Invisbility, and will cast Emotion: Hopelessness or Remove Magic directly targeting an Improved Invisible character. Further testing shows if I just use the ring and stand there, the wizard will cast Emotion: Hopelessness targeting herself (great!). If it knocks me unconscious, she will throw a few melf's minute meteors at me (this shouldn't happen since I'm still fully invisible) and then stand there with the rest of her crew. If I make the save, she will just stand there with everyone and do nothing. If I use the ring and then start attacking, the wizard treats me as fully visible and starts firing spells at me, which she shouldn't be able to do until the Improved Invisbility actually wears off. subtledoctor
Did the wizard cast detect invisibility or True Sight etc. first? Are you also using spell revisions? If yes and yes, then the wizard will be able to see and target invisible characters without fully dispelling the invisibility. Quote Link to comment

Neither Emotion or Remove magic require a visible target. AI can't cast the spell on the ground like you can, so that's sort of a workaround AI uses. Melf's meteors issue I know of, but I don't know exactly what causes it. If he's using single-target spells against you (charm person, flame arrow and similar) while you're imp.invisible that's a bug; I haven't witnessed it however. Quote Link to comment
MrSyms
I have the same issue with Imoen in my current setup (EasyTUTU) and the only difference from my previous (working without any issues) one is SCS v.30 instead of SCS v.21 so I presume it's indeed a SCS' v.30 fault. I ended up with modifying her proficiencies/skills via ShadowKeeper. Thanks for confirming I'm not alone in experiencing this issue. I re-downloaded v21 to install just that portion of the mod with everything else still from v30. It is working fine so far, although it will obviously take some time to test through an entire play through. It's an acceptable fix for now at least. Quote Link to comment

Salk
Hello DavidW! First of all, welcome back to us. Since I read in the SR forum that you are going to release a new version, I take the opportunity to tell you that the mage_level_scale/mage_level_add and priest_level_scale/priest_level_add customization seem to have a few problems: for one thing, changing the value from the default will cause a few errors at installation time (Smarter Mages and Smarter Priests). In my case, these are the errors: This one happens when installing Smarter Mages:ERROR: cannot convert caster_level_to_spell_level_mage_0 or %caster_level_to_spell_level_mage_0% to an integerERROR: [KOBSCR01.CRE] -> [override/KOBSCR01.CRE] Patching Failed (COPY) (Not_found)Stopping installation because of error.Failed to patch KOBSCR01.CRE; error message was Not_foundFailed to patch KOBSCR01.CRE; error message was Not_foundTwo more similar errors happen again, this time for Smarter Priests:ERROR: cannot convert caster_level_to_spell_level_cleric_0 or %caster_level_to_spell_level_cleric_0% to an integerERROR: [bRATHL.CRE] -> [override/BRATHL.CRE] Patching Failed (COPY) (Not_found)Stopping installation because of error.Failed to patch BRATHL.CRE; error message was Not_foundFailed to patch BRATHL.CRE; error message was Not_foundERROR: cannot convert caster_level_to_spell_level_cleric_0 or %caster_level_to_spell_level_cleric_0% to an integerERROR: [PRIHEL.CRE] -> [override/PRIHEL.CRE] Patching Failed (COPY) (Not_found)Stopping installation because of error.Failed to patch PRIHEL.CRE; error message was Not_foundFailed to patch PRIHEL.CRE; error message was Not_foundERROR: cannot convert caster_level_to_spell_level_cleric_0 or %caster_level_to_spell_level_cleric_0% to an integerERROR: [sAHPRI02.CRE] -> [override/SAHPRI02.CRE] Patching Failed (COPY) (Not_found)Stopping installation because of error.Failed to patch SAHPRI02.CRE; error message was Not_foundFailed to patch SAHPRI02.CRE; error message was Not_found Other than that, there is a problem with multiclasses. The customization correctly changes the level of the mage and cleric class but at the same time overwrites with the same new number the second and third class as well. For example, Ribald is a Figher/Mage with originally classes 16/14/1. Afterwards, it became 10/10/10. (mage_level_scale and priest_level_scale were set to 65% and 85% respectively, if I remember correctly). I noticed that some .cre do not have their level modified at all (I can think of Kangaxx, for example) and Sendai has its level raised (!) (from 20/20 to 26/22). Is that normal? Also, one other thing: somebody in 2009 reported this BGT issue which I also experienced recently. Some creature responding to enemy shout will break their initiating the dialogue. plainab offered a code which I am testing in my current playthrough but perhaps you can do something on your end? Thanks for your attention and godspeed with V31! Edited January 12, 2017 by Salk Quote Link to comment
DavidW
Since I read in the SR forum that you are going to release a new version, I take the opportunity to tell you that the mage_level_scale/mage_level_add and priest_level_scale/priest_level_add customization seem to have a few problems: for one thing, changing the value from the default will cause a few errors at installation time (Smarter Mages and Smarter Priests). It's choking when it gets a level that's set to (or below) 0. Fixed locally. Other than that, there is a problem with multiclasses. That's a general feature of level override; it's not very sensitive to multiclasses. Again, fixed locally. I noticed that some .cre do not have their level modified at all (I can think of Kangaxx, for example)Lich or demilich? and Sendai has its level raised (!) (from 20/20 to 26/22). Is that normal?Yes, that's intentional. (It's roughly what's implied by her memorised spells, iirc). Cleric/mages aren't caught by the level_scale ini setting because they're done individually (so there's no code to work out what spells they should have if they have their level changed); that's not likely to change. Also, one other thing: somebody in 2009 reported this BGT issue which I also experienced recently. Some creature responding to enemy shout will break their initiating the dialogue. Yeah, they shouldn't be on the general help loop in most cases. Will check. Quote Link to comment
oli
Hello, First off, thanks for the great mod! Can't play BG1/2 without it anymore. I keep running into problem with a random encounter with Tanova where at some point in the fight, the game crashes almost inevitably. No issues killing the regular 2 vamps shes with. Looks like i was able to navigate the fight successfully after uninstalling "IMPROVED VAMPIRES" but...that's not a long term solution since the vampires are a joke without SCS improvements... Will post WEIDU log after it finishes reinstalling (trying to get lucky here!) BG2EE w/ Coran + UB + BG2Tweaks + IR v4 + SCS v30 I saw at some point it (~2014) reports of BG2EE not being compatible with SCS but it also looks like that's no longer the case? Wasn't sure Edited January 14, 2017 by oli Quote Link to comment
Loz
I think there might be a bug in prepblocks\chaincont.ssl, though it depends on developer intent. I notice the option 1 blocks at the top are identical to the option 3 ones further down, whereas it looks like the option 3 ones might have been intended to load with WithoutSI||True rather than WithSI. Salk
I noticed that some .cre do not have their level modified at all (I can think of Kangaxx, for example)Lich or demilich? Not sure. I have taken note of a few .cre before installing Smarter Mages and Smarter Priests. One .cre that was not modified was Cultist (CLTCUT01) that remained 10/10 but he is a Cleric/Mage and you said that the level_scale .ini settings won't affect those. The same happened with a Fighter/Mage though: Githyanki (UDGITH02) was level 11/11 and remained so. If I can be of any help with some testing, just let me know! TBH I ought to go over that code in general, I haven't looked at it systematically since about v15. Quote Link to comment
kreso
There is one issue I could never got to work - Refinements spells appear not to be used anymore. I'm sure they worked in v28, but ever since v30 is out I've never witnessed a mage or a cleric using any of Refinements spells. Quote Link to comment
