Item creation issues

I have created new bracers, boots, rings and amulets, but none are equipable in the game. Everything is set properly as I copied over an existing piece of equipment first or edited existing equipment.

One issue I have noticed in the DLTC Editor is that when I load up an item in the game, it shows paperdoll animation as -unknown. When saved, it switches to -none as there is no listing for bracers, boots, amulets or rings. Seems like a bug in the editor.

When you setup the game you intent to use the files in, do you have the BG2Effects.dat selected in the "Location of IEEP... " folder ? As if not, the files might not get processed correctly... and I always start from a known item, and edit the values and effects etc... and the items you edit don't have any paper doll or avatar appearances so of course it would be unknown/none, so it won't matter.

Not a bug, rather a correction. I guess the -unknown value is actually a 'bug' (Bioware's), though it doesn't affect anything

Ah, you are right, it replaces the ' ' with plain 0. I think i do this because it would cause a crash in the original engine, if you set a level restriction AND still have a non zero paperdoll animation.

So, i just clear it when it is harmless.

The equipability problem should be caused by something else.
