Problem with randomizing Lasaonar's weapon

Blade of Searing +3 4 Lasaonar sw1h39

I came across a problem when Lasaonar (the first dueler who fights in the tavern in the Drow City) appears to have had the blade of searing exchanged for a non-weapon item. He fought the four drow with his fists instead of a weapon, and so he wasn't able to kill them (just knock them unconscious temporarily), so the fight did not have an end and no other duels were able to happen.

Looks like no one has posted here for a while so not sure anyone is watching, but wanted to say I've really enjoyed the mod other than this minor problem.

Weird. He is supposed to get a drow longsword instead.

Can you upload your weidu.log and the files fl#randomseed.2da, fl#removeditems.2da, fl#randoptions.2da and udlesa.cre from your override and I'll have a look.

P.S. Excuse my tardiness in replying. I haven't had access to my password for the past few days, and guest posting is apparently not working.

No worries at all on the response time. I wasn't able to upload the weidu.log or udlesa.cre files as "You aren't permitted to upload this kind of file". I'll post my weidu.log below in case it helps though:

I wasn't able to upload the weidu.log or udlesa.cre files as "You aren't permitted to upload this kind of file".

You can zip the file and upload it that way. Come to think of it, a saved game from inside the tavern from before you encountered this problem would also be nice. You would need to zip that up, too.

I can also tell you which item you are missing, if you are interested (it is not a remarkable one). Unfortunately, fixing the problem by giving him a weapon is somewhat complicated, as it involves editing the sav file of your saved game. If you would rather not forgo fighting the duels, I can edit it for you.

Ok, zip file uploaded with the .cre file and the save game shortly before the duel was attempted (and forgive the archive name if it's my own error and not really a bug). No need to edit the save game for me, I've played beyond that point now and don't think I really need to go back to it. Thanks a lot for taking a look into this though.

I appear to have the same problem. It's wierd because he looks like he's swinging a weapon though. Enclosed are the files you requested of the the guy before me. If you need to edit the file go ahead, i'm in no hurry to complete my run.

I am afraid your problem is due to your installation order. Specifically, the Fixpack should definitely have been installed before Item Randomiser, and the latter should ideally have been installed towards the end (around aTweaks and Level 1 NPCs). After Item Randomiser was installed, Lasaonar had his random item and a weapon, but then Fixpack came along and deleted the weapon, putting him in the state you observe during the fight.

Even if I were to fix your save, I wouldn't be at all surprised if you would encounter additional problems. Additionally, I can't promise that fixing your installation order won't invalidate your saves. However, for what it is worth, changing the installation order to

BG2 FIxpack

DungeonBeGone

Tyris Flare

Song and Silence

Item Randomiser (preserve saved-game compatibility)

looks promising. Lasaonar still gets the same random item (which wouldn't be too likely if the operation would invalidate your saves). It is possible none of the mods you have installed alter the game in a way that is relevant to Item Randomiser (other than DBG, and you would have that installed before in either case, so it should be all right).

Umpteenth edit: actually, fixing your save shouldn't be necessary, since Lasaonar does not appear until the fight starts, and the earliest you can save is after the fight.
