BGII Tweaks v14 Available

The BG2 Tweak Pack is a WeiDU compilation of fixes, cosmetic changes, and tweaks. Some of these were fan requests, others are needed fixes, and others simply make dealing with the more irritating aspects of the game engine easier. Each component can be installed separately so the player can pick and choose only which ones they wish to install. Version 14 is a collection of bug fixes, some compatibility updates for BG:EE and BGII:EE, and some new, EE-exclusive components.G3:

v14 change log:

  • All items added (Exotic Items, Bags of Holding components) now have item description images on EE games
  • Fixed bug with the Two-Handed Bastard Swords, Two-Handed Katanas, Two-Handed Axes, and Wear Multiple Protection Items: P&P Style components where items available in stores were being sold for 1 gp
  • Added new components for EE games: Remove Summoning Cap for Regular Summons, Remove Racial Restrictions for Classes, Remove Racial Restrictions for Kits, and Alter Dual/Multiclass Restrictions
  • Sensible Entrance Points will no longer crash on some BG2 games
  • Higher HP on Level Up will now account for custom HP tables on EE or TobEx-enabled games
  • Updated armor lists for new BG2EE armor; also added sanity checks for any component that uses them as 1PP and Ashes of Embers both add items named BAND01-04, only one set of which is armor.
  • Updated to WeiDU v232 for native installation on EE games
  • Predicate structures that allow/disallow components were standardized

In plain English, the mod now uses WeiDU v232 for standard installation on EE games; the NORH hotfix is now included; and I l played around quite a bit with the new EE functionality. The EE-exclusive tweaks are not yet active and will have to wait for the release of the v1.2 patch as the needed functionality is not yet in the wild.

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this. I noticed that the new containers at the FAI, Thunderhammer Smithy, High Hedge, and Nashkel Store, all have dialog from other parts of the game in place of the names and descriptions. Unfortunately, I cant remember exactly where off the top of my head. Just FYI, other than that everything is working great. I am running Beamdog version of BG:EE patched to 1.2 and this is the only mod i have installed. Previous versions have worked flawlessly on my BGT and SOA-TOB run throughs. Thanks

i encountered a bug: the texts of shields (all shields i had in my inventory or equiped (eg. baldurans shield)) had story line or dialog text as description. so i guess the text has somehow been shifted incorrectly. i dont know which component caused this behaviour since i installed pretty much everything from the tweakpack to BG2:EE

it seems to be the shapeshifter tweaks for shields. after removing the shapeshifting rebalancing component the texts where good again. dont know if other text are affected as well, though. needs more testing. but shapeshifting it was in my case. hope that helps a little.

what i did: reinstalled the game (to be sure), installed only "really need be"-tweaks and none that added new items except shapeshifting. but i found the shield-text-bug again, so i removed the shapeshifting stuff and the texts on shields were good again.

ps.: i dont know if this particular "bug" causes other issues as well later in the game or on other occasions!

I see the same problems with text on some items in BG:EE 1.2 with BGII Tweaks 14.

 

First i installed, among other tweaks, arcane spellcasting and thieving abilities in armor and the description of all and every armor lost the text about its properties (only the basic armor description has been left, without AC stats).

Next i installed almost the same set of tweaks, but without these two. The armor descriptions became OK, but when i got to Beregost and Taerum shop i discovered that ammo belt and case of plenty have the description text from some dialogue.

 

It seems that 1.2 patch changed something in dialog file in unexpected ways.

Were you able to Shapeshift still?

I can't at all with BG2 Tweaks installed granted I haven't tested it extensively but did reinstall from scratch.

Getting an Invalid 52637 Error whenever I use the Shapeshift ability.  Also using 1.2, Steam version, BG:EE

I had the same problem. All the armors and shields descriptions and some weapons where saying "Invalid: (blablanumberx)" instead of having the proper description.

I restarted the tweak pack in Terminal and removed the 1-shapeshifter balancing, 2-armor spellcasting, 3-armor thief abilities. And now everything is back to normal!

Worked perfect for me! But too bad for the nice armor spellcasting... oh well.
