  1. Separate question: I've been playing on hardcore mode, and I've noticed that a lot of mages didn't have stoneskin active (Rayic Gethras, Mekrath, Gaius, Tarnor's mage) which has earned them a staff of striking to the back. In earlier versions, I thought that every mage walked around stoneskinned permanently. The documentation says that in improved mode that they should be stoneskinned, so is there something wrong with my install? Addendum: I just started a new game on Windows, C:MoveToArea('ar0701'), there Gaius walks around without stoneskin, though he gets it later through prebuffs. I was under the impression that most mages walked around with stoneskin even outside of prebuffs. I guess I can just refrain from backstabbing?
  2. Improved NPC customisation and management: With this component installed, Imoen doesn't have enough XP to reactivate her thief powers in her dual class thief/mage. She has 40000 thief XP which puts her at level 7, and 60000 mage XP which also puts her at level 7. It is 90000 XP to the next mage level. This can't be intentional can it? Addendum: on Mac this seems to happen consistently with Imoen. On Windows, I get bizarre behaviors (in one test, Imoen ended up with 3.375 million mage XP).
  3. So about that antimagic not working on spell protections bug again -- the source of the problem is Antimagic attacks penetrate improved invisibility (I know that the spell no longer works on teammates under these conditions, but it was also failing on hostile enemies). Removing the component fixes everything (though of course, I will henceforth be relying on true sight and thief detect illusions more.
  4. So about that antimagic not working on spell protections bug -- I can repro it on my windows install. The only slightly questionable thing I did was use the SCS hotfix instead of the BigWorld Fixpack. Could that be it? For what it's worth, I checked on my old school BG2 classic SCS17 install, and I get the whole "Spell protections dispelled" etc lines in the console. So it seems legit. I might have a little time to poke at it this weekend...is there a SCS public github repo? I have no experience IE modding, but I'm a software engineer by trade, and quite happy to dig in.
  5. The targets I've tried are: characters in my party, spellhold Irenicus and Elder Orb in the underdark. I also just tested ruby ray and spellstrike vs spell deflection and the same thing happens.
  6. I have SCS installed on BG2EE on a macbook pro, and on my install, secret word does not seem to dispel spell deflection (I have not tested other antimagic vs spell protections), but I suspect it's the same. When I cast at a spell deflection protected target, there is no text in the console log. When I follow up with a breach, it says spell ineffective. Here is my weidu:
