GUI modding: how is it done?

Are the graphical elements attached to the buttons in the main GUI discrete, findable entities? Can they be found and manipulated with Weidu?

Not the buttons themselves, mind you - this isn't yet another "I want an editable GUI like IWD2" thread. All I want to change is how they look.

Specifically, I'd like to make the 'innate abilities' button look like the 'item abilities' button, and vice versa (but, they would retain their current functionality).

Possible? Are they just .BAM files mixed in with all the other ones? If so, anyone know where I can find them and what they're named? Would edited versions dropped in the override folder show up properly in the game?

Etc., etc. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, actually 19, 20, 57, 58, and 39, 40, 55, 56 respectively. So I guess I have to export that .BAM (for each game), open it in some kind of software that can edit the file, switch those frames, then save it.

Heh heh, except I have no idea how to do that. Sigh. Nothing's easy.

Okay, thanks, I changed the BAMs with NI, but this mod isn't going to work. The plan was, combine item abilities and innate abilities (since there are relatively few of them) and separate wizard spells and priest spells (since there are relatively a lot of them).

But in NI, the location of item abilities can be "item slots (3)" while (2) and (4) are undefined... and the location of spell abilities can be "spell slots (2)" or "innate slots (4)" while (3) is undefined.

I hoped that I could set item abilities to location (4) and priest spells to location (3). But it doesn't work. They just don't appear in-game. :( Oh well.
