  1. Hi Salk, For my own point of view you are free to use any of the material, ideas or anything else you can squeeze out of any mod I've ever released in my own name. If it helps the current modding scene release more mods I'm all for it. The Credits and Copyright info in the original mod was just there to prevent the mod being instantly reused by someone else at the time of publishing. I have no attachment to any of my previous modding works so feel free to use anything and everything as you wish. If there is anything I co-authored you might need to get agreement from the other author(s) if they are around. I sent you a pm at the BG:EE forums which is where I first saw your message. I have accounts at SHS, G3, BWL and BG:EE as Rabain, any contact at any of these should eventually reach me...eventually. I lurk occasionally but don't log in very often any more. Good Luck & Regards, Rabain
  2. For NI to extract sounds succesfully you need to have the ACM2WAV converter in the BG2 game directory: Get it here: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/IEmodding/index.php
  3. Can you give your paladin some item that will bonus spell slots by level...like the clerics Symbol?
  4. If I'm not mistaken a practical Permanent Protection from Evil is not possible. You can add Protection from Evil and set the duration to permanent but afaik it still expires. Even Protection from Evil applied by an item wears off. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Find Familiar might take some tweaking to get it to work with as a paladin spell. Probably as well off making it an innate that he gets at level 1 because you only need cast this once in the game. Why waste a spell slot?
  5. Yes you get a new restriction but that restriction includes the restrictions of both of the values you added together to make the new one. So you add restrictions of cleric and kensai you then have a new restriction that can't use edged weapons (cleric) and can't wear armour (kensai). Yes the 12 tells the game where the kit lies on the game creation screen. It does affect restrictions too but in a different way to the hex value for kits. In an item file (sword, shield, bow etc) there are settings to say who can use the weapon (ranger but not stalker, ranger but not elve, everyone etc). The number you assign to the kit tells the game that as well as the kit restrictions hex value you should be treated as a ranger (12) so weapons that a ranger can't use your kit won't be able to use either. For example, the ranger normally can use all weapons but he can't use a magical weapon that was made for only Paladins (Carsomyr) so the game knows your kit is not a paladin because you chose 12 instead of 6 (paladin). Think of the numbers (12 etc) as high level restrictions and the hex value as more detailed restrictions within the number.
  6. Are you talking of the white glare from the shirt? I tried changing the shirt to anther colour but the white is so...well...clean that it just didn't look right! I could perhaps match the colour with the strip running across the chest. Is it war paint or a tattoo? If paint then okay, if tattoo then it probably would go under the hair. Thinking about it, it would probably go into the hair if it was paint too. Being applied by hand rather than in the same fashion as ladies makeup!
  7. Something like this? and an attempt at warpaint:
  8. I think I figured out what I did but its a bit embarrasing .I originally had the npc at lvl 8 with 180000 XP. I then decided to changed him to lvl 12...but I never changed the XP so now I have an NPC who is lvl 12 but only has 180000 XP and needs more than 1 million XP to get to his next lvl. doh! Why do I always post and then find out the answer? And also find out it is something stupid that I did?
  9. Can someone confirm which part of kit creation specifies the XP table you follow. Is it the class you choose the kit to be part of or is it somehow tied to the restrictions? I have the strange circumstance at the moment of a ranger kit that has multiple restrictions (I added the restrictions of several classes) that requires 1 million XP to get to lvl 9 from lvl 8. Would this be because my Kit is being treated as some kind of triple multiclass a la fighter/mage/thief even though it displays as being just a ranger? I basically wanted to restrict the npc from wearing/using anything. I think I crossed kensai/wizardslayer/shapechanger restrictions.
  10. Okay, some blending of the lower part, just above the grip. Better ^, might need to refresh to get the image to update.
  11. I think I see what you mean: I tapered the bow/staff slightly and widened the left ear, reducing the dark centre part.
  12. I was attempting to re-install a mod after making some changes. I guess it is not a good idea to re-install a changed tp2 before un-installing the version you have installed!
  13. Nah the Add kit is always at the top of the tp2. I did notice that this seems to happen when the kit in question is already installed. Would that have an effect on the assigning of the kit to the cre? The only way I could get around this was to remove the kit from the ids files and re-install. I didn't have to change the tp2 at all...weird...
