Any chance of the Spellthief kit being added?

Based on the core class from Complete Adventurer? I'm not sure how easy it'd be to do the whole spell-thievery bit.

Instead of stealing a spell we could just say that the target looses 1 spell from memorization and somehow the spellthief gets a random scroll added to his inventory.

I think it should be a kit for Wizard. I know it's "spellthief" but name is misleading. He shouldn't have got skills in normal thievery like pickpocket or lockpicking.

Thanks for the idea, though! If you've any more, I'm glad to listen--I just don't think this class would translate particularly well.

Sounds like it would be more appropriate for a kit specific to a hypothetical Thief/Mage mod NPC than a kit actually selectable for the main character.

It's an interesting concept, but given Bioware's disposal to ForceSpell or SpellNoDec rather than have spells memorized, it strikes me that draining spells from enemies is largely a futile exercise.

In PoF Kitpack there is a kit called "Arcane Trickster".

 

ARCANE TRICKSTER: Arcane Tricksters combine their knowledge of spells with taste of intrigue, larceny, or just plain mischief. They are among the most adaptable of adventurers.

 

Advantages:

- Once per day + at levels which can be divided by 5 (then 1,5,10,15,20 etc.) can cast False mirror, Luck and Un-detection. This spells have got casting time 1 and duration of 1 round per level.

- At 12th level can once per day cast Shadow doors

- At 17th level can once per day cast Mislead

 

Disadvantages:

- Have got limited backstab multiplier. 1-8: 1x, 9-16: 2x, 17+: 3x.

- Gains only 15% of thief skills
