PracticalKat
I have two rangers in light armour. Both are taking penalties of -8 / -4 when dual-wielding. This doesn't happen in the original game using the same save. Is this a known bug? Running 0.8.4 under Ubuntu 14.04 Link to comment
lynx
Is this something you see in combat or in the records screen? edit: ah, I see. We don't grant the free feat in that condition, so it isn't recognised. Do you remember if they're supposed to get two-weapon fighting along ambidexterity or just the latter? Link to comment
PracticalKat
Dual wielding and ambidexterity. Vanilla game has a - 2 / - 2 penalty Link to comment
lynx
should be fixed in the latest commit. Build will be up in a few minutes. Link to comment
PracticalKat
Silly question: last time I built from source (0.8.4), but the snapshot is a later version. I see that the snapshot archive (2016-12-07) has a folder iprefix, and then various subfolders bin, etc and share. I assume that I just copy these over the ones already in my /usr/local, or something like that? Link to comment
lynx
You can just run it from there, no need to copy anything. But if you insist, first uninstall the old gemrb (make uninstall). I don't think I've added any new files since the release, but I'm not sure. It's just the proper way and in some cases stray files could cause problems. Link to comment
PracticalKat
ok, thanks. didn't make uninstall, just running from home/bin. Ran executable with reference to previous config file working under previous install. Gives various errors and then fails. Any idea what to do next? Output follows. I can also add the output before the previous install successfully loads IWD2 if needed. lynx
Yes, you'd have to edit the config and fix the paths inside to point to the new PluginsPath, GUIScriptPath, override/unhardcoded ... Link to comment
PracticalKat
No iprefix/lib/gemrb/plugins directory in snapshot? Link to comment
lynx
oh, right, it's a static binary. Fix the others though (no mention of travis should remain in paths). Link to comment
PracticalKat
I've pointed it at the plugins on the existing install, and now it's complaining about duplicates. Will tinker a bit more when I have a chance, and post the output if needed. Link to comment
lynx
You don't need to point it anywhere, just change it back to an invalid path. To get it to run, you need to change the other paths I mentioned above. Link to comment
PracticalKat
Looks much better. The Ranger 1 / Rogue 5 has Proficiency scores of -2 and -2, as expected. The Rogue 1 / Ranger 5 has Proficiency scores of -1 and -1. Both are in light armour. Found that the Rogue 1 / Ranger 5 also has Proficiency scores of -7 and -3 in Chainmail, but think I saw this in the vanilla game as well. I did some edits with Dalekeeper 2 previously, and may have messed something up a bit with this toon. I'm happy with the changes overall. Link to comment
