Scrolls

About scrolls, conjuration ones are usable by evokers even if that's one of their two forbidden schools ( along with enchantment, those wrok fine ); they can read but not memorize those spells.
I'm quite sure specialists can't have more than one prohibited school in BG, the exclusion flag works only against one school, and spells can't have more than one exclusion flag. Anyway I'll look into scrolls.

Blade barrier

There might be another version of the spell to modify because some enemies still use the old one. I.e. Challindra, the drow priestess you fight at the drow inn, casted a blade barrier that damaged for 20-30 once/round.
It must be sppr698.spl, I'll make it work as SR's Blade Barrier.

Symbol of Weakness

...is still named symbol of fear ( when cast by the demon knights you summon at the Demogorgon's altar )
I'll fix it.

Larloch's Minor Drain

bug: description is not updated to the last version. It says the spell always deals 1d4+2 damage, while it deals 2 at level 1, plus 1 more every two levels up to 6 at level 9.

Note/Balance request: while I was updating the description in my installation I realized this is a very poor alternative to the 5d4+5 magic missle ( that has the added benefit of chewing some mirror images and having a good chance of spellfailure against mages with MR ) so I changed the spell to deal/heal 2+2 every two levels up to 10 at level 9, does it seem balanced? This spell doesn't exist in pnp so max freedom allowed even for purists :D

I thought I have fixed the description in one of the latest hotfixes, I guess I was wrong.

Regarding the balance, what you've done is exactly what I had thought of doing for some time, and doesn't seem too unbalanced if compared to Magic Missile (though you're comparing it to the most powerful 1st level spell). MM deals 17.5 points of damage, thus almost double damage, with the advantage of multiple hits which can be great to overcome magic resistance. I was concerned about comparing it to Cure Light Wounds, which would cure less hit points than this spell (1d8+5 on average is 9.5), but perhaps the deal is that LMD needs a target to steal life from and can't be used to heal others. I'll think about it, does most of you agree with Raj's suggested improvement?

Invokers indeed have two forbidden schools in game, enchantment and conjuration; it's written on the manual too, but in-game updated descriptions(fixpack+npckit) only list enchantment; developers might have messed things a bit, as it's a bit odd that they are the only kit that doesn't follow the 1 school rule, I'm pretty sure they were intended to miss only enchantment ( because enchanters have evocation forbidden, but conjurers have divination ).

Quick test: try create a level 1 invoker, you can't select spells from both schools :D

[minor drain](though you're comparing it to the most powerful 1st level spell)

Hey it's a damage spell, I can't really compare it to identify or mage armor :D I though it was balanced 17.5 damage+various benefits vs 10 damage+10 heal.

Now that I think about it the randomness of chromatic orb made me give up on that spell : is it too much ask to be able to select which orb you want to cast ( with a sub-menu like with spell immunity or create magic weapon )?

Hate to add to you woes, because of all the good work you've been doing but:

I think the Ariel Servant's weapon isn't doing the 2d6+11 points of damage. When I poked around it seemed to be 1d20.

Also its animation is now the large air elemental instead of the original small one. Looks mighty grand except - it can't fit through doorways!

Thanks

I didn't knew I had changed the Aerial Servant animation! :worship: Don't worry, it took few seconds to fix both things. :p
