cshh69
Hello, Ive just joined today. Played all the Baldurs Gate games on release over the years. Havent played BG2/Throne Of Bhall for years and i was thinking of buying the Enhanced Edition. Is it worth it? Keep reading about lots of bugs etc. Are there patches etc on here to fix most bugs? If i dont buy it whats the best patch for just playing BG2/Throne Of Bhaal again? Sorry for all the questions, Thanks Cshh69 Link to comment
kreso
Do you need this? If yes, go for it. If no, stick to the original. Best patch is the Bioware patch. Link to comment
cshh69
Thanks for replying. Its just BG2 enhanced i fancied. Have you played/tried the enhanced edition? Link to comment
kreso
Yea. Didn't like it none. It's faster than BG, that's a good thing. Link to comment

Sorry for all the questions, Thanks Cshh69 for the price of $25 or 23 euro is totally NOT worth it, in my humble opinion. buy GOG version (I would), already fully patched, install and play. AL|EN
Right so i have my original BG2 & Throne Of Bhall disc's. Is there a patch on here to get it upto date/fix bugs etc? Just use BWS and you will have everything you want: patches, restored content, mods etc. Link to comment

cshh69
Right so i install my BG2 & TOB and download this patch and when i click on the Icon i press play and the games doesnt start. Im not that great with computer's so hence the questions. Im running Windows 8 by the way. Link to comment
Jarno Mikkola
Right so i install my BG2 & TOB and download this patch and when i click on the Icon i press play and the games doesnt start. Well, start the game running the BGMain.exe(or a quick icon made from it to your desktop), not the baldur.exe which opens the front end program that seems to lead to no where. Also the games patch won't install correctly if you use the default install folder(the C drives Program Files folder because it's protected by the Windows OS), so change that to be a folder under your profile name... aka: C:\Users\ <username> \BGII - SoA\ ... if you use the Win8, there the patch will install correctly, or so I hear. kreso
What's your game install directory? Don't install it to your Program Files directory, use something like c:/games/bg2 or similar. Link to comment
Kaeloree
If you're having trouble, BGII:EE really isn't that bad, and doesn't require you to do all that. A bunch of us modders work on it. Link to comment
Sergio
I would say you, that for now, bg2:gog edition is better.BUT...I do agree that there are some problems with bg2:EE, but I do not agree with the harsh words that were used to describe bgII:EE.There are some problems with it, namely:> Bugs> Few mods> Unrefined new npcThe few mods will be fixed, like the bugs, with time. And the Unrefined new npc content I hope will be fixed by Kai of Candlekeep with a mod.In one-two years, BG:EE will be better than the 1998 edition.
