SCS v31 Release Candidate (Now No. 3) Now Available for Testing

Recommended Posts

I'm getting the old bug where Sarevok dies but the game does not end. Could it be related to "Fix for unkillable Sarevok in EET game"?

- Version 31 RC3

- I installed with the EET mod tool

- Sarevok apparently is dead, but my thief can't hide in shadows within sight of his body. Not sure what this means.

- There was no death dialogue. I don't remember if there should be one. I got all of his mid-fight dialogues.

- Similar to http://gibberlings3.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=17937 and http://gibberlings3.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=17109 and http://gibberlings3.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=17560

- Values of globals are:

DEATHOFSAREVOK = 35654305

SAREVOKBEHAVIOR = 3

ENDOFBG1 = (does not exist)

- I've tried messing with the above globals in the console and nothing happened.

sarevok bug - after kill.zip

EDIT 2:

This workaround from one of those threads worked:

- Kill lackeys, get dialogues

- Ctrl-Q Sarevok after dialogues

- Bring Sarevok to 1 HP

- See "Sarevok - death" and he falls over but he is actually still at 1 HP

- Ctrl-R Sarevok (and remove him from party and ctrl-Q my sixth party member...)

- End of game occurs!

DEATHOFSAREVOK = 35654305

SAREVOKBEHAVIOR = 3

ENDOFBG1 = (does not exist)

- I've tried messing with the above globals in the console and nothing happened.

Having said that, it's a curious decision on the part of Beamdog to make them assassins,

At a certain level, I kinda become inured to all sorts of random crap being blamed on Beamdog and/or the EEs, and I was fully prepared to dismiss this as same. But damn if this isn't true, and damn if I can find the ticket and/or justification.

I would have hoped my non-Beamdog-hating credentials were reasonably solid by now!

To be fair to them, it's invisible and harmless in an unmodded game. But SCS takes information in the "kit" field literally, and provides special abilities and scripting to match.

Try rats on legacy of bhaal in unmodded ee. ;p

I have installed the 31 version on my Mac with BG Enhanced edition (latest updated version). In the scs readme file it states

"Antimagic attacks penetrate improved invisibility

This component changes those spells which target a creature's spell defences (e.g. Secret Word, Spellstrike, Ruby Ray of Reversal - but not Breach) so as to allow them to target creatures which are protected by Improved Invisibility. The idea of this component is that these spells can now be cast on enemy mages who are protected by Improved Invisibility - this makes the Improved Invisibility / Spell Immunity: Divination combination less overpowering.

Prior to version 16, this component worked by giving the spells a small area of effect. This option remains, as a legacy component, for those who prefer it.

The antimagic attacks of enemy mages will bypass Improved Invisibility even if you don't install this component."

I said Yes to this option. But it seems I got the legacy version since when mages move the spell strike animation does not "follow them". Was I supposed to say install this option if I want to get the "new behaviour"?
