ScuD
DavidW comment on the issues reported: Use v13. The first bug will have little or no noticeable effect. The second "bug" is a compatibility problem with Spell Revisions, not a bug in its own right (I understand that a hotfix for Spell Revisions will shortly be released). The third bug is either harmless or very nearly so. If needed, I can remove bug descriptions. In setup-scsii.tp2 BEGIN @218 happens twice. The second component should amend the dragon immunities I assume. DavidW
In setup-scsii.tp2 BEGIN @218 happens twice. The second component should amend the dragon immunities I assume. Yep; that needs fixing. Installation breaking: cannot install 2] Mages only cast short-duration spells instantly at start of combat if they are created in sight of the PC, but probably 1 and 3 as well. Results in ERROR locating resource for 'COPY' Resource [dw#sprfi.spl] not found in KEY file: [./chitin.key] This is a bit odd - another person has reported this but I'm unable to reproduce it on my install. (Your "fix" probably will make the component install, but it's not actually correct - another subroutine of the mage component should already have generated dw#sprfi earlier on. There will be bugs of various kinds if you make it install that way.) You're not running on Wine or something, are you? (I don't support Linux installs.) And another small issue from a very long ago - scsii\help\scripts\dw#grpin.baf has !Dead("astSeenBy(Myself))") That may or may not be a mistake - I think it's substituting an existing bit of code. But I'll have a look sometime. Link to comment

DavidW
Not Wine, but Windows 7, 64 bit. Had to move up to 7. OK, then I'm continuing to be confused. My own install test is on Win7 32 bit, and works fine. If you want to try debugging it, try this: (1) open mage.tph, scroll down to line 64 (the first of a big block of LAUNCH_ACTION_MACRO) and comment out (by adding // at the beginning) every LAUNCH_ACTION_MACRO line except for the ~mage_silent_spell~ line (2) Uninstall all of SCSII (3) install just the Detectable Spells component and the mage component (4) open up the override directory, and tell me what files exist in it that start "dw#" Link to comment
ScuD
OK, done that. Out of 6 silent spells that should be there I do not see dw#sprfi and dw#sprco. Checked the size of them - it is 202 bytes for each, they are from Spell Revisions v3. It seems they are not processed by make_spells_silent macro. Update: Ah, found my previous installation made in XP. And you know what? There's no dw#sprfi and dw#sprco there. This looks like a compatibility issue between SR v3 and SCSII. Hope this info helps. P.S. Temporarily fixed the issue by commenting out the line 518 in scsii.tph BUT_ONLY_IF_IT_CHANGES Removed the possible fix from the first post. Link to comment

ScuD
Sorry, I was ahead of myself. The size of initial SPWI319 and SPWI320 is 202. It seems they are not processed by the macro. I will reinstall everything this evening to get you the full list of dw# files. Link to comment

DavidW
@ScuD: Okay, got it. It is a compatibility problem between SRv3 and SCSII. For some reason, SR just replaces SPWI319 with a spell that does nothing except cast SPWI524. I don't know why Demi does this rather than just copy SPWI524 into SPWI319's slot, but in any case, the make_spells_silent macro is nothing like clever enough to track through to a secondary spell and modify that instead. So it fails to make any changes. Because it fails to make any changes, it doesn't create the spell at all. Your commenting out of "BUT_ONLY_IF_IT_CHANGES" helps to some extent, because it at least makes sure the spell exists, which in turn prevents the mod crashing when it can't find it. But there's still a substantial compatibility problem, because the mod is unable to make the changes it needs to make to the spell. I can think of ways to fix this at my end, but they're a bit awkward, and until I understand more from Demi as to why SR works this way, I'm reluctant to go to the effort. @Yangus: could you find the k#anna.cre file, turn it into a zip file, and upload it to this thread, please?
