SR do changes it to not bypass magic resistance as per PnP, it's not a bug. Within SR spell's descriptions always mention if a spell bypasses magic resistance, and in this case it doesn't. I don't know what you mean by "despite the tooltip stating it's not", which tooltip? :)

Btw, if you don't mind I'd prefer bug reports to go here. :p

P.S Trust me, Sunfire is still a great spell, and the reduced casting time, coupled with the smaller AoE makes it usable in much more situations.

The tooltip I was referring to was the spell description. In the thread you linked it even says "Sunfire: description erroneously said "bypass magic resistance" whereas V3 finally fixed the spell to not ignore magic resistance."

Sorry about not posting in that thread, it occured to me just moments after posting that there probably is a better place for that. If I have any future problems I'll be sure to post them there. Anyway, I installed the hotfixed version from that thread.

In the setup-spell_rev.tp2 file, the sunfire section looks like this:

ADD_PROJECTILE ~spell_rev\projectles\dvsunfir.pro~

COPY ~spell_rev\spwi5##\spwi523.spl~ ~override~ // Sunfire

SAY NAME1 @655 SAY UNIDENTIFIED_DESC @656

COPY ~spell_rev\spwi5##\scrlar.itm~ ~override~

SAY NAME2 @655 SAY IDENTIFIED_DESC @656

COPY ~spell_rev\spwi5##\spwi523d.spl~ ~override~

WRITE_SHORT 0x98 %dvsunfir%

SET "loop" = 7

WHILE ("%loop%" > 0) BEGIN

WRITE_SHORT (0x98 + 0x28 * ("%loop%" - 1) ) "%dvsunfir%"

SET "loop" = "%loop%" - 1

END

If I want the installer not to change the spell, but keep the new animation, should I modify it to:

ADD_PROJECTILE ~spell_rev\projectles\dvsunfir.pro~

/*

COPY ~spell_rev\spwi5##\spwi523.spl~ ~override~ // Sunfire

SAY NAME1 @655 SAY UNIDENTIFIED_DESC @656

COPY ~spell_rev\spwi5##\scrlar.itm~ ~override~

SAY NAME2 @655 SAY IDENTIFIED_DESC @656

COPY ~spell_rev\spwi5##\spwi523d.spl~ ~override~

WRITE_SHORT 0x98 %dvsunfir%

SET "loop" = 7

WHILE ("%loop%" > 0) BEGIN

WRITE_SHORT (0x98 + 0x28 * ("%loop%" - 1) ) "%dvsunfir%"

SET "loop" = "%loop%" - 1

END

*/

Like this? I am too used to the old sunfire, frankly, and while I try to refrain myself from too much cheese, this particular spell is just too useful, especially against improved ust natha.

Change Sunfire section to this.

ADD_PROJECTILE ~spell_rev\projectles\dvsunfir.pro~
COPY_EXISTING ~spwi523.spl~ override
 GET_OFFSET_ARRAY header 0x64 4 0x68 2 0 0 0x28
PHP_EACH header AS ind => res BEGIN
WRITE_SHORT res+0x26 ~%dvsunfir%~
 END

Ahh ok, but that link too is saying "Sunfire shouldn't ignore magic resistance". :)

Anyway, if you prefer vanilla's Sunfire do as Ardanis is suggesting.

Frankly, I'd be more inclined to post a bug report about Skeletons drinking potions.

Haha, indeed, I completely ignored that bit. But I guess it's a scsii problem (not very gamebreaking but still). Thanks for your help everyone.

Yeah, it must be SCS (I don't remeber the name of its component which adds potions to npcs) though I don't remember it assigning potions to skeletons back then.

It's just probably that the creature is not correctly flagged as undead or something.

Yeah, those skeletons were spawned by the improved crypt king from...tactics?
