importing character to BG2 from BG1 leads to crash

Hi everyone,

 

So I have a character from BG1 that I am trying to import into BG2. I had both programs installed (none enhanced addition) on my computer over a year ago and deleted both. I decided to load them again today and saw that the previous saved games are still there. I tried to import my character from the end of BG1 to BG2. Every time I try the program crashes. It also crashes if I try to load a saved BG2 game.

 

Any thoughts? I feel like this could be because I had deleted the programs before, as this could have corrupted the files perhaps.

What do you mean by "delete"? What exactly do you mean by "crashes"? How far into the game do you get?

 

Did you mod your games back then? Because crashes in the game can be caused my missing / corrupted animations.

you have old saves incompatible with the current installation.

 

 

can you start a new game without crash? do you have a copy of your weidu log? you can try to somewhat re-create your previous installation by installing again the same mods. if not you can forget about loading your old saves and you must start a new game. first export your bg1 char and then copy and paste him from bg1 characters folder to bg2 char folder. start a new game and choose him and that's it.

uninstall games/applications, don't delete them!
