qwerty68
I'm having difficulty installing widescreen at 5120x2880. Rather than filling the screen, the game runs at very low resolution in the upper right quadrant of the screen. I've tried reinstall and uninstall-install with success. Setting resolution in the vanilla configuration utility has no effect. 2560x1440 works but only fills the center 1/4 of the screen. 3360x1890 also works but appears even smaller. 1920x1080 works and fills about half the screen. 1280x720 runs at very small resolution in the upper left corner of the screen. All resolutions work properly in other games. BG2 TOB scales properly without the widescreen mod, albeit with very low base resolution. I'm pretty lost on this. Any advice? Jarno Mikkola
Well, what GPU do you have ? If it's integrated intel ... you have made the bed yourself. If it's a proper NVIDIa or AMD gpu, you might have to look at the Graphical Control Panel settings, so that you remove any bad setting... What aspect ration do your monitor support ? Don't know..you could give me the model number .. but you don't need to. As the 5K doesn't work, first you should try the true and fast "4k resolutions", at ~21:9; 3840x1440 or 2560x1080 or at 12:5; 3840x1600 or at 16:9; 3840x2160 .. 4096x2160 There's no guarantee that the mod works at all on large resolutions, by the by. Let alone any non standard ones(3360x1890 ... 1920x1880). 1920x1080 could work too... on a 16:9 screen. It was tested only up to 1920x1080 setting. I have tried my game at 2560x1600, but it was way way too small for me to play from a total 24" 1920x1200 screen. Also I ran one game with a 28" 3840x2160 ... but it was still way too small. qwerty68
The 1920x1880 was a typo, it was 1920x1080. I have an AMD Radeon R9 M395X. I've tried fiddling with the graphics settings, but there is either no effect or TOB ceases to run entirely. My monitor is 5120x2880 (16:9), 2560x1080 (21+1/3:9) and others are possible but leave significant amounts of empty space, defeating the point of widescreen. I'll try smaller resolutions since the mod doesn't support larger ones. If I can get it working, 1920x1080 or 1280x720 are more than large enough. I just want the game large enough to play and milder blurring. Quote Link to comment
Jarno Mikkola
You are using the "AMD Radeon Settings" to control the thing, correct ? And set the GPU scaling OFF. Yes, a little ridicilious. Edited October 24, 2017 by Jarno Mikkola Quote Link to comment
qwerty68
Alright, now large resolutions are the only ones that work. Both 1920x1080, and 5120x2880 technically work, although the UI is a complete mess on the latter and barely usable on the former. 1600x900 works but anything less, even 1504x846, doesn't. 1280x720 is still stuck in the upper left corner. I even switched my monitor to 1280x720 and it still ran at exactly the same size. 1152x648 (The smallest preset) doesn't work either. EDIT: 1600x1200 and 800x600 both work, but 1200x900 doesn't. Jarno Mikkola
Yeah, make better guesses ... or educated ones, aka use the link. Try these: 1366x768 standard 16:9 resolution. There's also the 1024x576, erhm, this might not work, as the mod itself doesn't want to use the small GUI. The general Standard resolutions. Ouh, and you do have the supersampling anti-aliasing method off ? Edited October 24, 2017 by Jarno Mikkola Quote Link to comment
