Resting/XP

Hiya, Kish. Just heard about this mod...it's something I've been wanting for about 6 years now. ;) Hope you're making progress...I'm a little worried that there doesn't seem to be much updating going on... :D

Anyway, a quick, possibly stupid, question: I assume the party will be able to rest in a stronghold controlled by an in-party NPC, but what happens if you kick that NPC out? I saw previously that it was suggested that if you kick out an NPC who controls a stronghold, he or she would go back to that stronghold instead of, say, the Copper Coronet. Will those strongholds still be available as resting spots for the party? And, if so, will the PC get to banter with the NPC WITHOUT necessarily inviting him/her to rejoin? I'd like to think I could just drop in on Minsc at the cabin and find him delighted to see me ("Look, Boo! It is our old friend, CHARNAME! Come in, CHARNAME, come in!" "Hello, Minsc. The place looks great. Hard to believe someone was killed in that very bed").

Also, I can't imagine why anyone would kick out an NPC before he/she completed the stronghold quests, but I assume you're taking that into consideration?

One last thing: it's cool that you're letting the NPCs make up their own minds about how to handle the various crises that arise in their strongholds, but will the experience change much? ;) I picture myself looking over Haer'Dalis' shoulder and muttering "I could have gotten 11,500 XP by giving the snooty elf the big part..."

Really looking forward to this mod. The only reason I play with the multiple stronghold component is because I always thought it was a huge rip-off that, say, the Ranger's Cabin or the Druid's Grove wasn't offered even though there was a perfectly servicable Ranger or Druid standing a shoulder's length away from me. Good luck, and please try and keep us posted!

Yes, I haven't done enough work on it lately. I promise, I'm not giving up.

Yes, you'll still be able to rest there--as long as the NPC left on friendly terms. If Nalia left the party because you're an evil bastard, though, you're unlikely to be welcome in her Planar Sphere--or her Thieves' Guild, for that matter.

Also, I can't imagine why anyone would kick out an NPC before he/she completed the stronghold quests, but I assume you're taking that into consideration?

Yes.

This is one area where you'll have to wait and see. Some NPCs' decisions will probably meet with your approval more than others. Haer'Dalis is likely to be pretty good at putting on a play, but if Anomen's Chaotic Neutral, he might have a perception of what being a good priest of Helm means that is ever so slightly at odds with the hierarchy of the Temple.

If you don't like a decision the NPC makes, sometimes you can try to persuade him/her to change it.

I will, and I'll try to spend more time working on it.
