Two words for my fellow Americans...

Folks, whatever side you are on, the elections are over, and it's pointless to wave your fist in the air after the fight. Please, don't bring bashing over at G3, particulary based on the socio-political agendas.

What I'd like to congratulate the Americains on, is on their will to vote. Active participation in politics is what makes governements better.

Peace, all, and please, try not to look at one another and cry 'enemy'! if at all possible.

Besides it won't be long before Europe is controlled by Muslims. You are birth controlling and aborting yourselves to death. Nature hates a vacuum, you have abandoned Christianity and Islam is coming to fill the void. Atheism won't fill the void, it is a void in itself by definition. So if you like your socialism, enjoy it while you can. It is just like in the US, it won't be long before the Hispanics control our country. There is an old expression, he who breeds leads.
I do hope this is a joke. :)

I second it all. :)

prediction of how the democrats will try to "fix" things from an economical stand point.

1 raise taxes

2 create "jobs" by heiring 1000's of new government jobs.

the first will create more income for the government, however it is going to choke new growth so in the long run will be more of a detriment than if they did nothing at all.

the second will employ more people, however since the government does not provide goods and services that create wealth it will be another detriment in the long run.

there is a ton more I can write here but I am not stupid enough to think I will actually persuade anyone here. but if you really want to know go out in the "real world" away from universities (*some of the dumbest people I know are collage grads.) and ask people that actually put themselves on the line to start a business, heir people, pay taxes, and create 'real jobs' what they would do.

*High in IN low in WIS (to put it in D&D terms)

It sure looks like one! I'm with Choo Choo on this one!

I'll third it. This election is making history in one sense: for once, people went out and actually **voted**, and that's what democracy is all about, exercising your right and duty to vote.

Ignoring everything else what was said here... for once, I've been keeping up with this sort of thing, and I too feel the right choice was made.

As for Mr. J Beau, I'm delighted to hear you have such an elevated opinion of us.

Actually I love Europe. My ancestors are from France and I went to Italy on my honeymoon. I enjoyed it immensely and i love the people. Demivrgvs, its not a joke and its not my opinion. Just look at the birth rates in European countries, you're not replacing yourselves, and look at immigration. The same thing is happening to the US with the exception that its the good people from Mexico who are coming in.

In terms of it being good that people vote, well it would be nice if they understood what they were voting for. Half the people who voted yesterday were clueless about the issues. They just voted for the person who looked and sounded the best on TV. Saying that its good that "at least people are voting" is like seeing someone in an apple orchard who is eating dung from the ground and saying "at least he is eating."

the new deal was a joke that has screwed the US till this very day.

welfare, social security, 2 things that are the worst entitlements that are crippling Americans. Now they want to add socialized medicine? great, do not realize that governments cant do anything better than the private sector?

J Beau, if you want to make racist or nationalistic comments, please go to the boards that welcome them. G3 does NOT. G3 is an international community. G3 is not here to give you a soap box for bashing of entire nations based on geography or religious believes - I am certain there are palces for that in the Internet world. Please, continue in a respectful manner.

Right, because having to spend $30k per year on health insurance is a great way to help families. Private healthcare is better than public also here, but public healthcare (teaching, welfare etc.) actually does its job without having to pay thousands of dollars.

Did you even read my posts. What about "I love Europe and its people" do you find racist or nationalistic. I'm certainly not saying that the US is the greatest country in history. My point was the opposite, I love my country but we need a lot of work. If your talking about my demographics comments, I was not applying any real value judgments there, I'm just saying that's where the evidence is leading. So what are you talking about?

Domi, I was thinking about your comments and where is your indignation at Choo Choo who referred to Christians as extremists. Isn't that bashing people because of their religious beliefs? Or do you make exceptions for bashing Christians?

Two of the three things that are almost guaranteed to start a brainless flame war are politics and religion. We're two for three, folks, so let's just pull the plug on this before it gets any uglier.

Thing is, folks feel very strongly about both, and they aren't going to change their minds. Not now, not after 87 pages of repetitive bickering. The place to register an opinion on the subject is the ballot box. That part is over. Congratulations to all who did their part to make sure this was a well-attended election. Polls report voter turnout of greater than 75%, which is nearly unprecedented. That's something to be proud of.

None of that is really relevant here. Sure, we throw around birthday greetings or seasonal nonsequiters from time to time, but G3 is about computer gaming. That's a light-hearted leisure activity. Hint, hint.
