batesman
Hello, and thanks in advance! Summary: My BG1 Tutu instance will not start after installing the G3 Widescreen mod. Instead, multiple instances of bgmain.exe are listed in the task manager and cannot be ended. I have to restart to close them. If I uninstall the G3 WSM, then the Tutu game starts and runs as expected. System: Windows 7 x64, Nvidia GTX 460 Install Details (in order): All versions of mods are the most recent available on their respective download pages. Installed Full BG1 to c:\games\BG1 Patched to 114315 Installed ToTSc Patched to 5512 Installed Full BG2_SoA to C:\games\BG2 Patched to 23037 Installed EasyTutu to C:\Games\BG_Tutu Installed Tutu Degreenifier Installed TuTu Fix (only the BG2 ammo stack and BG1 Summoning spells options) Installed EasyTuTu spawn randomizer Installed G3 WSM to the BG_Tutu directory - which concluded error free. I set my resolution to 1280x720 in the installer. I have tried other resolutions as well. I'll be glad to provide any additional information as I'd like to get this sorted out. Any ideas on what went wrong? Kind Regards Link to comment
batesman
Oh! Yes, I used the correct version of EasyTutu to correspond with SoA and not ToB Link to comment
Jarno Mikkola
And you don't have the BG2 - ToB add on ? That would likely help immensely, as you could install the ToB Patch and EasyTutu_ToB. I would have to see the full debug file the Widescreen mod makes to even take a guess ... I think I ones made a Tutu install, but it was ages ago. Link to comment
batesman
No problem! I'll post it momentarily. Link to comment

batesman
I think I just solved this problem, and I feel like an idiot. I use AVAST antivirus and it's normally not intrusive. During this install (which I just finished moments before posting the log), I did everything with the antivirus disabled. Now, the baldur.exe and bgmain.exe in the EasyTuTu directory are working as they should. I still don't know if the GWM worked, but I am one step further than I was. I can only surmise that when the GWM mod was trying to modify the bgmain.exe, that AVAST was interfering in some capacity. Link to comment
Fiann of the Silver Hand
Avast scans new executables. Modding bgmain makes Avast treat it as new. You can whitelist the entire game folder in Avast. Link to comment
Jarno Mikkola
You can whitelist the entire game folder in Avast.Yeah, and eventually when someone is livE(read the word backwards), they figure out that they can easily just use tricks like this to set up viruses to un-scanned regions of the hard disks and have all kinds of non-fun with it. Somehow I don't trust to programs that auto-compare bits and come up with, ahh " deltree /y C:\*.* " ... WARNING, what ever you do, do not run that !!!!!! Link to comment
