NPC Kitpack with EasyTuTu

hello. o/

been lurking here for years but have never bothered to register.

i created an easytutu installation pretty much identical to cmorgan's order of installation thread and was very careful to avoid incompatible components. because npc kitpack isn't included i installed it directly after divine remix because most of what it does is similar to certain divine remix components. i would post my weidu.log but i decided to start over and stupidly forgot to keep it. however, my installation was basically everything green from the aforementioned thread + npc kitpack.

however, when i started a game imoen doesn't recieve the adventurer kit. i tried using shadowkeeper, but of course that doesn't list new kits, so i then tried changing her kit in near infinity (all the _imoen.cre files, and wth, candlekeep imoen is a mage!) and started a new game. this proved fruitless also. so i checked if anyone had similar problems here and although there is a similar thread on the first page, it states that the problem has been fixed in the latest version (which i am using). although it's a fairly small problem, i've grown very fond of the mod. even little touches like class title can add a nice amount of flavour to the game. i also figured others might wonder the same thing.

i also just noticed that "npc kit" (i assume it means kitpack?) is listed under "Will not work or have no effect on Tutu" in the tutu compatibility thread.

so, my question is: how compatible is the npc kitpack with easytutu and when should it be installed?

oh, and i'd also like to say thanks. i've put far more hours into the infinity games than any other game i've played, and that is largely down to gibberlings three.

well, i managed to figure out how to use custom kits with shadowkeeper, so ended up just editing a savegame. seems her stats are ok and she gets the bonus to skills fine.

what confuses me though is how she was STILL a pureclass thief after changing ALL of her bg1 .cre files to adventurer, in both shadowkeeper and nearinfinity. maybe some sort of script was changing her back to pureclass thief or something, the same way kitpack changes her to an adventurer (i think).

anyway, i'd still like to know for future reference if anyone has any idea what i'm doing wrong, if anything.

here's my new weidu.log incase it helps.

so, my question is: how compatible is the npc kitpack with easytutu and when should it be installed?
Well, the NPC kits is old mod, but you should use the Level 1 NPCs mod to adjust every little thing out there... making Minsk into Enchanter, Kagian into Paladin, and Safana as Barbarian etc. mistakes...

Now to make a kit swich with ShadowKeeper, you need to know which number the new class uses in the Kit selecter, and to get that, you can start a new character(Player Character) as that kit, and save... exit the game and open the save, then you go to the charasteristics, and check the 'value' number in the Kit selection. Then you just open the NPC's files, and insert the new 'value' to the Kit selector and that's done. But if you do this, do not install this:

~SETUP-SCS.TP2~ #0 #3020 // Allow player to choose NPC proficiencies and skills: v12

Besides this, are you sure you deleted all the game files before you reinstalled the EasyTutu? As the old game files are not shown in the WeiDU.log, but still might haunt you in the stairwell...

thanks for the reply. : )

yeah i considered using level1 npcs, but it's really more the kits and titles i am after. i like the extra flavour that npc kitpack brings, even though the changes are small.

as for using shadowkeeper, with the help of near infinity and a lot of time i managed to figure out how to get the code myself and it seems to have worked ok. what is the problem with the scs component though? what i did was wait until imoen was in the party, at which point that component reduced her to lvl0, then i exited and changed her to adventurer using shadowkeeper. like i said her stats looked ok after lvling up, the only thing i wasn't sure about was her thief skills, but i can live with a 10-15% difference in a couple of them. is there anything else i should worry about?

and yes, definitely a clean install. it was a clean backup i'd made before installing any mods the first time round.

I didn't think NPC Kitpack was Tutu-compatible, though maybe it could be made such with a few tweaks.

But it probably isn't compatible with SCS's "Allow player to choose NPC proficiencies and skills" - Level 1 NPCs isn't either, because they do roughly similar things and/or will interfere with each other.
