Lazy Swashbucklers

I don't know if it's a bug, but shouldn't the swashbucklers gain some extra attack/round from their second proficiency dot? It's description speaks about +0.5/round, but it just doesn't happen (I have the same number of attacks as I had with one proficiency). Well as I dual-wield it would be nicer to see 3 attacks instead of 2... Or is it just my bloodlust? :)

The engine is stupidly hardcoded--while all classes get the extra THAC0 and damage bonuses from extra pips, only fighters (and their dual- and multi-classes) get the ApR bonuses.

And is there a way to correct this, or am I to play a fighter? (Bah!)

The mods doesn't seem to help there as I see it. There are reballancing and Song and Silence, but this bug remained...

Since I want to solo it, 2 attacks/round does seem to be lacking...

'Hardcoded' generally means anything that mods can't touch, so unfortunately there's no way to change it. As for an extra attack, you could always use the old powergamer trick of using Belm in the offhand.

Aye. But with +2 it can hit almost nothing in the endgame. I used crimson ninja-to but it seemed to be weak as well (+3). Well Solaufin's sword would make difference :) ...

Ah. well no matter. Just asked. Thanks newertheless...

Actually, using a +2 or +3 weapon in the off hand works just fine if you are in the habit of also using improved haste. Since you never get more than one off hand attack, an improved hasted dual wielding swash with belm or scarlet will make 5 out of her six attacks with the main hand. Also, scarlet is only unable to hit Anath and Demogorgon......both optional fights. You never actually need better than a +3 weapon to finish the game.

Anath's ridiculous immunity is from an old BG item--something that's corrected by the Fixpack. :)

If my understanding is correct, you never make more than 1 attack with the offhand, unless you are Improved Hasted.

Let's say you have a base ApR of 1, Belm in the main hand, and Kundane in the offhand.

Normal round: Belm, Belm, Belm, Kundane.

Improved Hasted round: Belm, Belm, Belm, Kundane, Belm, Belm, Belm, Kundane. Not Belm, Belm, Belm, Belm, Belm, Belm, Belm, Kundane.

Thanks. It's not that I stuck or something. I played prety much with the game, and I know about Belm and other cookies. Simply I'd regret using a sh*ty Belm instead of Celestial fury or other "nice" weapons just for the extra attack (that I thought I deserved :D)... I just didn't want to make a sacrifice because of a bug. But yes. Swashbucklers still kick ass... :D

Nevertheless I found another sollution. Though the Gauntlets of extraordinary specialisation didn't give any extra attack for my inquisitor or my fighter-mage in older games (is THAT a bug? Okay. Now I see. I'm not bloodthirsty but highly paranoid...), now I realised that it gives a full +1 attack/round for my swashbuckler... :)

This may sound like cheating but if your supposed to get it, then it isnt. Use SK to edit your A/R and prestO changeO you kill quicker. Thats the best way to do it anyway
