Badfish_07 Posted January 29, 2014 Share Posted January 29, 2014 I've installed SCS v28 with the auto installer trying both in c: drive and also program filesx86 (windows 7) and it installs most of the mods but at the end i get a failed to install because of error, mostly with things like improved AI, tougher boss fights, tougher durlags, ect.. Badfish_07 Posted January 31, 2014 Author Share Posted January 31, 2014 Some of the options like NPC goes to inns goes in, but improved AI does not.. i've tried several different combos, tried several diff folders for the installer..tried the auto one and the batch file, tried C:\ games and also program files x86. Tried BG1EE and BG2EE, tried SCS v28 and also went as far down as 25... all clean installs.. Every time i get to the AI section, it says failure to find a stratagem folder ect that it has already used "i think" to install the mods that DID go through.. Can't figure it out please help! jastey Posted January 31, 2014 Share Posted January 31, 2014 Please give a more detailed error message. For example post the content of the SCS DEBUG file that should be in your game's folder. Thanks for the reply! I'm attaching the requested debug file. Note that i have tried to install in C: games, and also program files x86. I've tried v28 SCS and previous versions. I've tried installing in different folders other than the one that contains the .key file. I've tried using the auto installer, and also just tried the batch file. Each different try was with a fresh install, and I've re DL'd the v28SCS as well. I tried installing it into BGII as well, and get the exact same results. And it can be summarized as a probable typo in the ssl code, one that writes an extra "\" or one that writes a "\" instead of a "/" when the code is processed, which fails to process on the first line, and the two after are just there as the file fails to materialize. Most of those files use / when loading, there are very few instances that use \ but here is an example of one that seemed to be correct even with the \ : Copied [stratagems_external/workspace\autolib.slb] to [stratagems_external/workspace/autolib.slb] Copying and patching 1 file ... So i don't know if its just a double // causing the problem, the \ causing the problem, or a combination of both. I assume the correct code would be one of two lines, either 20, "stat", "stratagems_external/workspace\ssl_out\dw#summe.baf (just removing the double slashes) or 20, "stat", "stratagems_external/workspace/ssl_out/dw#summe.baf (removing double slashes and changing \ to /) I probed around the ssl files in stratagems with notepad but i have NO idea how to edit the code correctly. As you see, I also get slashes both ways (and I'd guess it's perfectly normal) but it installs correctly on every game I have (EE, EE2, BGT). Yours is probably a local problem. Not sure what the problem was, but i put the game file on a flash drive, installed it on another PC (32bit OS), DLD SCS and patched it, and it went through fine, moved back to my PC with flash drive, works like a charm. Firebeard automatically put up stone skin, mirror image, minor globe of invulrn, and something else.... this is going to be one hell of a playthrough. Thanks for the help all. Link to comment
