Incarnadine
I'm trying to create a new Infinity Engine game. I was wondering if it would be possible to use files from multiple IE games in GemRB in one game? For example, could I use the dialogue.tlk files from both BG2 and PS:T so that I wouldn't need to create a new dialogue.tlk for all the item text? Link to comment
Icendoan
Yes, tlk files are compatible, but if you offer this to download, multiple tlk files are large. You would probably be better TRAify-ing it and then using the TRA strings for your item text. I think you can traify things in TP2, so all you have to do is run it and append everything. You should take a look at BGT and see how A64 does it, and probably try to emulate it. Icen Link to comment
Incarnadine
Where can I download TP2? Link to comment
Icendoan
No, you can't download it yet, because you haven't written it. Icen Link to comment
Mike1072
Like Icen mentioned, you'd probably do best with just extracting the strings you need for the items from one game (first, find all of the specific items you want). When you make the new game's installer, it will be easy to add these descriptions to the items you are adding. Check out the WeiDU readme for more info. Link to comment
